Legoland holidays

My dh and I booked a spur of the moment Legoland holiday on Friday. We had never taken the kids to Legoland before and I just wanted to say how much we loved it!! Brilliant fun! And the hotel had a lovely pool and kids play area...and the kids got a free buffet.
Really great weekend and even my 20 month old had a blast (and he is hard to please!)
If you are thiking about and have never been...do it!

which hotel was it?

I live in Windsor, if you are planning on taking the kids to Legoland, then keep in mind that Travelodge are building a huge hotel right in the centre, 1 min from the castle and shopping outside the door. Windsors a great place for kids, however, it is expensive, if you are going to take your children to Legoland, then go to the shopping at xmas, every £75 you spend you get a annual pass, I normally stock up on birthday presents for the year.... works for me, one mum, two boys.... 3 free annual passes.

Amthinking of doing the same thing for august bank holiday - never been before. Which hotel did you stay in? Was LL jam packed? And any idea what chances I have of finding an apartment type hotel so we can sleep seperate to the dd's?? Pretty unlikely I imagine without it costing the earth.

Just thought I would add that if you book without a package deal you might find the free kids ticket with every paying adult offer on green's cake mixes useful.

When my elder kids were little, we had annual passes and used to go for a couple of hours at a time. My poor younger ones don't get the same priviledges (whiled meanwhile my elder ones have moved on to Thorpe Park passes).

I do love Legoland, but would only contemplate it outside of the main school holidays. Inset days are the best, if you don't have to work yourself.

Susann, I work in Windsor, live in Egham

I think it is different with an annual pass. We have them and when we go in the holidays, often don't bother to go on any rides but spend the time looking at the models, playing in the play areas and doing the construction activities.

Interestingly when we went last Monday I got chatting to a family who were on a holiday deal and they said that it had actually been quieter on the Sunday.
