CentreParcs Netherlands-anyone been before?

Try Duinrell. It’s not CP but it’s the same idea (cabins, awesome indoor swim centre) but it also has a theme park onsite with awesome rides (included in price).

Eurocamp and Canvas have (small, shoddy) caravans there but we hired a premium bungalow (“Duingalow”) from the site directly and it was cheap, large and in a nicer part of the site.

Located in a nice small town called Wassenar you can walk into the centre for dinner if you get fed up of self catering, and it’s a 5 minute drive to a massive sandy beach.

We went in October half term and it cost less than £1,000 for a family of 4 for four nights inlcuding eurotunnel crossings and the premium accommodation. Swimming and all the theme park rides are included. Awesome play areas too.

It’s straightforward 3.5 hour drive from Calais. We live in south London so we got up, drove to the tunnel, got into France around 10am, drove for 3 hours, stopped for lunch somewhere past Antwerp, drove for another 90 mins and were there.

Kids LOVED it and still talk about it 18 months later.

We're booked to go to duinrell next August. This year and last year we booked a 4 bed new executive lodge at centre parcs here in the UK. For next year we're getting a week in a huge 4 bed premium plus duingalow which includes access at any time to the theme park and 3 hours a day in the water park plus flights from London to Amsterdam for 7 people. All that for more than £1k less than cp in the UK! Crazy.

Centre parcs De kempervennen is great.Check out May half term prices and also last week in August can be good if Dutch kids have gone back to school (dates change each year). Book an Eden villa premium or vip. Has a ski centre, lake for water skiing, mini letting farm, usual dome swimming pool. We all loved it.

We loved Centerparcs Kempervennen: loads to do and the kids even learned to ski (on snow, in the Netherlands, in August....)

We are going to de Kempervennen next month - haven't been before but reviews have all been good.

Been to de kempervennan a few years ago and had a great time. Going to another one (can’t remember the name off-hand) in two week’s tone and we know it will be great!

As a pp says, try to go when locals are at school still. Netherlands stagger their holidays across 3 weeks, so it’s good to compare and contrast. We are doing 5 days late July for 6 people for 900 euro.

I've been to Kempervennen a few times. Loved it!

Went to Het Heijderbos a few years ago and we all had a great time. The favourite bit was the second full size dome that was like the Inca jungle in the crystal maze, suitable for all ages and really amazing.

We used Ypres as an overnight stopping place to break the journey; dc were young enough to like going back to the same place, great place for an overnight stop off.

Even with petrol and ferries and 2 overnight breaks it still cost less than 4 nights at the one 10 miles down the road!

The Netherlands usually go back to school a week before we dd so if that last week is convenient then it can be a cheap week

We've been several times to De Vossenmeren on the border of Belgium and Netherlands. It was ace and the kids loved it

Been to Het Meerdal. The facilities were good but I’d advise booking the highest standard of accommodation as the basic level was way inferior to U.K. standards- very dated and basic. As long as you upgrade accommodation you’ll be fine.

Went to De Kempervennen last year. Had a great time but definitely book a higher end cottage - the park is quite old and some of the lower end cottages looked extremely run down.
