Disneyland Florida- 2 days?

Hello,

We're planning on attending a wedding in August in Boston and on a previous thread lovely Mumsnetters advised going to Cape Cod or local afterwards for some fun with the kids- 2 under 10s.

However we've had a look and can't find someone in Cape Cod that kind of fits what we're looking for- basically a resort with lots of attractions nearby as we're non drivers, but also a little special. We've not been on holiday before as a family so want to be spoilt a little.

Anyway, back to the question, I've had a look online and the price of a fancy hotel in Orlando for four nights with a 2 day ticket for Disney land and flights will cost the same as a four day break in Cape Cod.

Will 2 days be enough for us to spend at Disneyland? We're thinking four days in total in Orlando with a couple of days just relaxing at the hotel. Will it be worth the hassle of flying from Boston?

Any advise/insight will be greatly appreciated

Thanks x

If you haven’t booked flights yet, look at flying into Boston, internal to Orlando then home from Orlando.

You will only have time to do either Disney or Universal.
Stay on site to maximise the perks. At Disney this means extra magic hours (check which parks have morning or evening on the days you intend to visit) and early access to fast pass bookings. Universal is more relaxed, and the best bet is to stay in one of the premium hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino Bay or Royal Pacific) to get the express passes.

Have you thought about the logistics? Flying to Orlando from Boston takes just over three hours. If you are flying Orlando - Boston - UK on the same day you will need to leave enough time in between the two flights to allow for delays on the flight in to Boston. These will presumably not be on the same ticket, so not classed as connecting flights, so make sure your travel insurance will cover the costs if you miss the UK flight. You will need time to change teminals (easy in Boston) and go through security (which isn't often too busy in the international terminal, but can occasionally get backed up).You could end up spending a lot of time in Boston airport (though it would be really easy to get an Uber or the T into the city if you had time to spare). What Chippy suggests above is a good idea - flying back directly from Orlando, but I assume you already have your Boston flights.

You can get early morning flights down to Orlando, and if you've only been in Boston for a few days before you go it will be easy to get up early. You can be in the parks by early afternoon easily.

To be honest if it was me I'd spend a couple more days seeing the sights in Boston then get the train up to Rockport or Newburyport or even Portland Maine, stay in a nice B&B and chill on the beach and go whale watching.
