people who go to WDW multiple times

Following from the WDW discussion with Virgin - can I just ask a cheeky question? People who have been to Orlando/WDW multiple times what do you expect to pay?

We are looking at summer holidays 2020 - we are restricted to school holidays as both DH and I work in schools. I was shocked to see that including tickets it was coming out at £2k per person and that wasn't staying in a Disney hotel. Including spending money we'd be looking at over £10k for 4 of us for a fortnight!! If we stayed at Disney we'd get the dining plan which would save money but the hotel, flights and tickets were more like £2700 pp so no cheaper overall.

Am I just hopelessly niave about the cost of this or clutching at straws am I missing something that makes it much cheaper? I just can't believe people spend £10k on a fortnights holiday repeatedly but maybe I'm just wildly unrealistic!

We spent 10k this year for a family of 4, 1 week in a mid priced Disney hotel and 1 week in an apartment. We would do it again but probably not for 4 or 5 years.

We have been roughly 16 times since 2006 and of course prices have risen dramatically. We used to hire a villa, tickets, flights and car all separately and have got tickets in the past for less than £300 each.
We are going next July (from 24th) for 2 weeks staying at a Disney resort with food and tickets included and it’s costing 5k and that’s without he flights. There’s 3 of us and unfortunately we are tired to school holidays now. We probably could have got it cheaper booking it separately but with a 3.5 year old we wanted to stay on site for the first time and we were happy with the price quoted.
Staying off site you also have to factor in petrol, food and car parking which I believe is around $25 dollars a day now. We went 2017 and found the supermarkets and restaurants so much dearer now than a couple of years ago and as a PP said, traffic is a nightmare now. Head over to the dibb and you’ll get more information than you need Smile

I think it depends on what what aspects of the holiday are important to you and how much you are willing to pay for them

For us, we knew it was going to be an exception to our normal holidays and we decided to spend a bit more and have the holiday we wanted ( BA flights, Disney deluxe Hotel, Disney Dining Plan, 14 day part tickets, car hire to do some exploring). We booked over a year in advance, got free dining and discounted air fare and spent about £10k all in for 2 weeks for 2 adults and 2 kids (one of whom was 10 and therefore considered an adult).

Yes we could have spent less by staying off site and self catering but chose not to as staying in the Disney bubble and having no food/transport costs or issues was worth it for us.

Oh, and we had an absolutely amazing time and are saving up to do it again in a couple of years time!

We've only been once, this Easter. It was a one off and we wanted to do everything. We did 5 nights at Disney with the free dining plan, a week in a villa so we could have our own space and then 3 nights at a Universal hotel so we could get the express passes. We had a car for the second half of our holiday and we flew with BA. For 2 adults and 2 teens the price was £7500. Then there was spending money on top. It is a huge amount of money on a fortnight. Would love to go again but...
