Sleeping on overnight flights...

… I cannot. I arrive exhausted, jet-lagged as well if travelling east or west, or just plain knackered if going to Southern Africa for example. I've tried herbal remedies - useless. Light from other people watching in-flight movies doesn't help, & the nightshades provided are uncomfortable. First class would be better, but the prices are astronomical. Any tips, please?

What’s in it solargain?

solargain · 23/06/2019 16:55

@ihatethecold it's a sleep mask. But it's amazing. I've tried so many and this one is perfect.

I cannot sleep on flights as was proved at Easter time when we went to New Zealand. However provided I took sleeping tablets the first few nights at either side then I seemed to cope ok, oh and avoided all alcohol on the flight.

I've decided to just embrace it. Watched many films and ate the free food.

Drowsy making travel sickness pills + melatonin + neck pillow + eye mask + ear plugs + comfy clothes = sleeping Hermione. Much to the annoyance of DP who finds it hard to sleep on planes, but doesn’t really commit like I do.

Sometimes I chuck in a Valium as well.
