Hello.
I'm not sure if I'm in the right category but I'll go with it anyway :)

I'm just wondering if a very old family friend who knows both my child's father and his family and also has known me since a child and my family side can sign my daughter's passport.

He has a business as a blacksmiths, so I was guessing it would all be okay but from what I am reading and hearing it has to be someone with a limited company, VAT registered and known on compaines house, I don't know anything about all of that so sorry of none of that makes sense or I sound a bit silly GrinConfused

I was also hearing that it has to become someone official like a doctor, lawyer, police ect.
It is all true what I'm hearing and being told of will this person be fine to sign the passport?
Many thanks in advance and again sorry for the parts that don't make sense :)

He would probably come under the heading of 'person of good standing in the community'
