I'm taking my 13 & 12 year old daughter and son on their first flight in July.
We want to go to somewhere in Europe within a 2 or 3 hours flight for 3 or 4 days.
I'm leaning towards Rome or Barcelona but interested to hear any other suggestions?
The only city we don't want to go to is Paris as we've already been there.

Anything in particular in Krakow that you recommend?

I loved Copenhagen much more than I thought I would.

Loads that DCs and teens will enjoy - Tivoli gardens, river boat cruise, royal palace, Carlsberg trip ( has a nice outdoor lunch bit). Won't be outrageously hot in summer like Barcelona or Rome. If you get a Copenhagen card then it covers public transport and the attractions. We stayed in an apartment and mostly ate street food and Danish pastries for breakfast Smile and it wasn't too expensive.

I actually preferred it to Amsterdam but loads of things to see and do there as well.

Rome is fabulous but I'd go October half term or Easter rather than July.

I’m not sure Copenhagen would fill 3 or 4 days and it’s hugely expensive- as are all the Scandinavian cities.

I’d go Berlin or Amsterdam

Seville, but maybe not on July.

Nice would be my favourite - you can either hire a car and visit places like Aix or Monaco, or go on the little train down the coast.

Or Rome, which is a wonderful city. We went in October, and the weather was lovely.

I liked Barcelona, but was put off by the crime, tbh, so didn't really relax. Was a while ago, so may be better now.

Malaga or Lisbon.

If you don't like it hot, Reykjavík!

I'd go with Barcelona. So much to do and see.

Krakow! My kids loved it and are desperate to go back. Lots to see and do...medieval main square and basilica, castle, tour of the Jewish quarter and ghetto, salt mines nearby and great food and drink.

My two loved Copenhagen. Beautiful city and lots to do with kids!
