We have booked to go to LA from 4th to 14th July and the accommodation we have booked has just cancelled on us! We are looking for an apartment preferably two bed in a nice part of LA (we were previously booked to stay on North Sierra Bonita Avenue) for myself, my husband and my ds who is 17. We are hiring a car. If anyone has any recommendations/ideas I would be very grateful. We got a really good deal so appreciate we may have to pay more, budget up to £2500. TIA

What about the city of Glendale?. That is a nice part of the greater LA country area to stay in and its not too far in terms from the likes of Universal and the Warner Brothers studios.

Will take a look there thanks!

Sorry I'm incapable of posting two links together
Of course they may be awful in terrible places but the reviews are good we thought we'd do the north and universal some desert then south and Disney

The Toluca Terrace property is in a nice central spot. If it's not too crazy hot, there's a nice street with lots of cafes and a "village-y" feel, Riverside Drive, nearby. The Warner's studio tour is pretty good, especially if you like Harry Potter or Batman (there's a nice little museum on the lot). You can go hiking with great views in Laurel Canyon on the Fryman Canyon trailapproach either from the bottom (parking lot at Laurel Canyon Blvd and Fryman Cyn.) or up at the top (great views and more rustic hike) parking lot off Mulholland Drive at Fryman Canyon overlook. Skip anything around Hollywood Blvd. Nothing but homeless people, scammers and hookers. Not worth your time. Griffith Observatory is fantastic for all ages, also wonderful views. Pasadena has tons of wonderful shopping and dining streets, and very nearby is the Huntington Library and Gardenthe Chinese garden (and restaurants) and the Japanese garden and house are not to be missed. The cactus garden is also spectacular. If you do go into Hollywood, the Paramount lot has a pretty good tour, and there's good eating/strolling a few blocks away on Larchmont Blvd. Also the mecca of all teen shopping, Melrose Avenue, between La Brea and Doheny. That's a LOT of shopping. Most teen friendly stuff is between La Brea and Fairfax, beyond that to Doheny is a bit more high end, but tons of "Instgrammable" murals and great people watching. I just don't get why some people don't enjoy Los Angeles! One of the most diverse and exciting cities I've ever lived in.

Thankyou what great information .
We've been to LA a couple of times but probably 10 years ago now we really liked it which is why we are going back - think staying in air b and will be a different feel .
We stayed in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica previously - but the exchange rate was great then!,,
