Princess Diana memorial Park is brilliant in Kensington gardens, there is a babies area and a water feature to play in, instrument area,, tents to run in and it of.

there are lots of fountains to cool down in too, we always take a swimsuit and towel when its hot.

I'd use a sling or at least a lightweight, umbrella fold pushchair. Navigating can be a bit of a nightmare for you and others otherwise.

I realise that's not a fun thing to do but it will make the whole day easier! Tbh with a one year old I'd just pick something you fancy doing and take them along for the ride Smile

I agree with Greebols, travel light and do something for you.

I always get a hop on hop off bus pass for every city I visit. It'll take you on every typical tourist spot, plus they tell you the history of each spot

Mudlarks at the Museum of London Docklands is an interactive play area is designed for the under 12s, with a soft play section for under 5s.
The Science Museum has sections specifically for preschool children. The Garden (which was in the basement) is an interactive play area water, light, sound and construction where toddlers can learn about floating, sinking, shadows and reflections. The Pattern Pod is a multi-sensory area for children aged under 8.
Coram's Fields is a free 7-acre playground and park for children. Pet's Corner is popular with its goats and sheep, and the sandpit can get busy if it's dry. There's a cafe onsite.
The pelicans in St. James's Park are fed fish at 2:30 p.m. each day. The park is quite big so you need to head for the opposite end to Buckingham Palace and they are fed from behind Duck Island Cottage, near Horse Guard's Parade. The pelicans know when it's time as they wait there and keep watch for the man with the fish. Throwing the fish out takes just 10 minutes or so, but it's fun to watch, and you're in a park so the kids can have some outdoor 'run around' time too.
