Home Counties Bank Hol Day Out

Inspiration needed, please!

Would like something fun to do with 2 x upper primary age DCs. We are dog free for the day so can go somewhere without the woof for once and want to take advantage...

Anywhere within the home counties or close by is fine. Ideally somewhere you could happily stay most of the day, regardless of weather.

Knebworth House in Stevenage? it has a dinosaur trail, huge gardens (i recommend bringing a picnic, the weather is supposed to be 16* ish), a kids play area called 'fort knebworth' which has bouncy castles, slides, play equipment etc. if you like, you can go into the house and have a tour x

Woburn Safari Park
There’s a costumed historical reenactment at Hever Castle. There are also a couple of mazes, an indoor miniature model houses exhibition, a military exhibition, boating lake, gardens to explore etc..

I think safari / zoos are out sadly although my favourite, as DS is going to one with school the following week so don't want to take the shine off his trip. We go to loads of parks / gardens when we have doggy with us, so something a bit different to walking ideally.
