Please give me inspiration. 40 in October and want to do a lovely family holiday with 2 little ones who will be 4 and 1 by then.
Needs to be warm, longhaul and somewhere I haven't been before.
Already extensively visited Australia, NZ, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, KL, Singapore, langkawi, Penang, Dubai.
Usually I'm good at researching but with the two little ones.... no time! top marks for hotel recommendations 😀 thanks

October is a perfect month for Hong Kong. There’s lots to do with kids. Disneyland is the obvious one, but there’s also Ocean Park which is part aquarium, part zoo and part amusement park and lots of child-friendly museums. Public transport is cheap, efficient and The Star Ferry and tram are great fun for kids.
If you’re looking for a hotel with a kids club in Hong Kong, look to the Gold Coast hotel. This is really the only bonafide resort hotel in Hong Kong, including an ocean-sized swimming pool, small splash water park and soft play room. Several of the rooms have now been given a kid-friendly makeover.
If you’re looking for a more adult stay but with plenty of extras for the kids, then the Cosmopolitan Hong Kong is as good for grownups as it is for the little ones. Their quad room is set up for two adults and two kids and comes with a small library of kid’s books and free teddy bear on arrival. The 24-hour stay rule is also handy. It means that if you check in at 8:00 p,m, you don’t need to check out until 8:00 p.m. on the day of departure. If your need access to the room early you can check in at 8:00 a.m. and still don’t have to leave until the official 11:00 a.m. check out time.

We went to Mauritius in September and I'd recommend the North of the Island if you want it warmer, as still early in the season. We loved it though. Plenty of culture, mountain walks and of course great beaches. We toured the whole island and lots to see.

The North and West of Mauritius are the coasts protected from the winds in the Mauritian winter (Mid June-end if August) when it can get windy on the East coast,

The East coast beaches of Belle Mar and Palmar are very beautiful but more isolated from other places to visit. The Residence or Long Beach would be ‘treat yourself’ options on stunning beaches, there are also more mid range places available.

Flic en Flac in the West has a lovely long beach, La Pirogue is a great hotel but lots of options in Flic en Flac. Flic en Flac is closer to the mountains and hiking in the National Park, the stunning beaches at Le Morne, and attractions such as Casela and La Vanille for zip lining, animal parks etc.

In the North Trou aux Biches has a lovely beach and nice hotels, with the lovely sweep of Mon Choisy near by.

I prefer the mountainous volcanic scenery in the Southern half of the island (south of Port Louis) to the flatter North.

Hire a car.

Have a look at a few places and ask advice on the Mauritius Discussion Forum on Trip advisor , they are really helpful.
