Which toys would you recommend I take abroad for my toddlers?

I’ve got two short haul weeks away this year, DD is 3.5yrs and DS will be 16 months on the first holiday. Both are villas with small pools, and we’re planning day trips, but can anyone help me with ideas for small/light toys that we can take (that might keep them occupied for more than five minutes)? On the plane also!

So far I’ve got:
Chalks
Crayons and paper
Water painting book
Board books
Pool inflatables
Small ball
Toy cars
Puzzles in sandwich bags
Little bag of duplo

Any more ideas would be brilliant!! I keep walking round my house looking for inspiration, but feel stuck now... am not averse to buying a few little bits too. Smile

Simple games like orchard for the older one when the younger is napping or you split the children with your partner?

Play doh

Happyland figures and vehicles

My toddler loves sticker books and they keep her occupied for ages

Playfoam
Aqua draw mat
A set of stacking beakers. Great for playing hiding games with small items of food like raisins and Cheerios
3 or 4 finger puppets
A set of nesting eggs (available from ELC)
Lamaze Freddie Firefly high hair toy - the suction pad will stick onto the tray table in the flight.
Vtech on the move activity bar (without batteries, so it doesn't disturb fellow travellers)
Several small envelopes that you can put a few raisins in for DC to tear open.
Pipe cleaners
Melissa and Doug reusable sticker pad
Magnetic shape board
This rocket toy www.elc.co.uk/garden-games/rocket-zoomer/122907.html?cgid=5429

For once you’re in your property:
Make a drum kit with upturned pots and pans and wooden spoons!
Roll balls down ramps!
Hide small objects (we used to use clothes pegs) round the house and go hunting for them.
Make a washing line indoors and hang up anything you can find - pieces of paper, hats, empty cereal boxes!
Have fun playing with shaving foam in an empty bath tub!
Make dens and tunnels and tents with sheets and furniture.
Blow bubbles with bubble mixture.

Go and buy a pile of plastic junk from £1 shop. At that age ds played with a shoe lace with plastic balls on it for hours.

For the flight wrap each new toy in wrapping paper. A new toy every hour.

Also bought a small paddocking pool with a canopy that was great for by the pool for sitting in, playing etc

You are all total stars, thank you! Some brilliant ideas and I will definitely do lots of them, I already have things like pipe cleaners and threading beads and play dough, and I’ll stock up on a few more bits too.
Redtartanshoes - love the idea of wrapping everything!
Ricekrispie22 - that was epic, ever thought of Blue Peter presenting?
