Hi ladies,
I'm due 30/06/19 and my mum has said she's going to treat the family to a holiday abroad in October,
My little boy will be 3.5 months. Any advice would be amazing as I'm a FTM, I have so many questions.
Mum has said not to take my buggy as it's expensive and will probably get damaged in transit, any recommendations on strollers/buggies that are travel friendly?
Travel cots? Do I take one or use a hotels?
Are 3 month olds safe to sleep in travel cots?
Please any advice on travelling with young ones is very much appreciated

We travelled back to the UK when my ds was 12 weeks old. He slept in a travel cot (took our own) and no problems. Do you need to take a car seat? my ds had one of those sleeping/grow bag things which makes it a lot easier with bedding etc. Can't remember if we used it when he was 12 weeks - he is now 19 - but they are certainly very useful.

We went away when DC was 4 months and we will be going again when the new DC is about 4/5 weeks old.

Travel cots are fine as they will be in the room with you, we just use the hotels one and will next time around again.

Most strollers are suitable for under 6 months so you might be best off taking your pram and then get a cover for it.

I’d take a baby carrier or sling as well.
How are you feeding? Thoughts into that as well . We FF and will next time too, so we will take our prep machine with us as well. Formula is different abroad as well and you can’t get the same brands so take with you.

Think about where DC will go during the day? Do you want a travel bouncer? Will you leave them in pram all day?

Nappies can be expensive abroad so
Take lots.

Think about clothes.

Use the hotel travel cot - you can buy a travel mattress if you want to take that to use instead.

Any lie flat pushchair will do. I can almost guarantee that your cheap and light one will be so much lighter and easier than the big expensive one you’ve got that you might as well sell the expensive one now Grin look for second hand on Facebook - if you’ve spent a tenner you don’t mind if it gets wrecked.

Think about feeding. If you’re exclusively breastfeeding it will be simple; anything else will take more planning.

You’ll need swim nappies.

At 3.5 months your baby won’t have had all their vaccines. Consider if that’s something you’d like to happen before you take your baby abroad. If it is, ask your mum if you could do it in February instead.
