Spain in May

Oh wants us to go for a week early to mid May. Sunny, but not too quiet. We like the beach and cafe affair. We don't do clubs and pubs and I am unhappy as I of recent have had to use a walking aid . It humiliates me and has robbed me of self confidence.
We have contemplated Malaga ( been before) or Marbella possibly. We like to be near the centre of things and near a beach .
Any ideas
Tia,

We went to Benalmadena in October with 2 DC and loved it. Malaga is a bit more upmarket, would definitely recommend, although the city's not very 'beachy'.

How about Mojacar in Almeria. Usually best weather in southern Spain. 3 km flat prom, beautiful beaches, loads of cafes, restaurants and bars and only a couple of big hotels as it's mainly apartments. Not a city so doesn't offer you the range of options which Malaga would though.

Marbella is gorgeous not puerto banus but Marbella centro the beach is beautiful and lots of amazing restaurants up in the old town great place to sit and watch the world go by,we go regularly both as a couple and with the kids it's such a lovely place.
Marbella gets grouped with banus (which is tacky as hell and full of towie types) but Marbella itself is very beautiful and very Spanish.

Thank you all very much .
Dh has decided either Malaga or Marbella . Whichever I can get good deal on . I tend to be the one who trawls online trying to see what is available where and flights.
Normally I enjoy a holiday, but I need knees and am using a 3 wheel walker which i hate.
A year ago we went to Madeira and I was fine. Late August I had to use a stick, and now this. ( of course I lose my benefits,) but that's irrelevant.

I am nervous of travelling with my walker. But I can manage really well with it as opposed to my stick .
So don't want it too hilly, and wonder about using walker on public transport abroad and even the plane .
No sure if it will be warm then either.

Just to say, I booked . Marbella next month.
Aparthotel which was choice of dh .
Am hoping all works out. Flights v reasonable but then added luggage and paid for seats together which upped it . With hindsight a case less possibly , but apparently can't change .

I hope you have a lovely timeSmile
I don't think when you are there you will have a problem with your walker. Along the beach is a very flat promenade and everywhere there is steps there is a ramped alternative.
I only know this because I've visited many times with a double/single buggy. Obviously I know you using a walker is very different and hope I haven't offended you but I just remember wheels not being issue if you see what I mean.
The old town is a little more cobbled but really beautiful maybe you could send your husband for a little "reccy" while you sit and have a nice glass of wine somewhereWink
