Wizz Air - cheap and cheerful?

I've used Easyjet in the past and for short flights I think they are fine (and very cheap).

Looking for a certain route now and found perfectly timed flights offered by Wizz Air. I don't know anything about them - is the experience similar to Easyjet?

Their website totally put me off. Also the price was good but their baggage entitlement is so small you have to pay for a package type thing including reserved seats etc and then it became a lot more expensive so I didn't bother in the end.

Only used them once and they were fine, similar to other budget airlines like easyJet. Would happily use again. I could take 2 bags on board as standard, did not pay for any extras and was randomly allocated a seat in row 7, so had left the airport within 10 minutes of the plane landing (flying within Schengen area).

With easyJet you need to pay at least 16 pounds/ euros to choose a premium seat and be allowed 2 bags on board, otherwise you have to pay to check one of them in, which costs even more.

I don't know if Wizz Air have changed since myself or the previous poster used / tried to use them but the bags and seat as standard was definitely not available when I looked into flights to Poland a few months ago.

The thing I really like about Easy Jet is that providing your hand luggage fits a certain size, there is no weight limit. And a duty free bag is extra though NOT handbags.

Their basic price includes 1 bag 40x30x20 in the cabin under the seat

For an extra £10 you can also take a 55x40x23 sized bag.

I'm not bothered about where I sit, I wouldn't pay extra to choose

Apologies, I just checked and I paid 8 euros for priority boarding on Wizzair, so that I could take 2 cabin bags on board. Flight was last November.
So basically the same policy and price as Ryanair. My Wizzair allowance was under seat bag 40x30x20 and cabin bag 55x40x23.

I much prefer this policy to easyJet where you are not allowed a second small bag/ handbag unless you pay for a "premium" seat, which includes ordinary seats that are just near the front or pay to check in your bigger cabin bag which costs over £20.

I am not bothered where I sit either or about priority boarding, it's just that with easyJet choosing a premium seat is cheaper than checking in a cabin bag, but still at least twice as expensive as Ryanair or Wizzair priority boarding at 8 euros/ pounds.
