Accommodation recommendations for Lake Garda

I am looking to book Lake Garda for this summer (late to it, I know). We are looking at Bardolino, Perschiera or around that area.

Ideally I would like to rent out a villa with our own pool, but I think that is going to cost a fortune.

Alternatively, we would be looking for an apartment, in a complex (aparthotel, service apartment) with a good pool and parking. Having said that, I'd also like to be able to stroll into town or maybe this is unrealistic and I will need to drive or take a taxi. Or, an apartment or similar with a pool and the ability too stroll down by the lake.

Any recommendations?

Also, on one website it said air-conditioning by the general managers discretion. What the hell does that mean?

We stayed in La Rocca camping village which is in between Bardolino and Garda (walkable to both). It has a fab pool as well as very close proximity to the lake itself. Lots of on-site facilities too including large grocery store, bar, restaurant and bike hire.

There were lots of accommodation types, we went for a self catering apartment type thing which was good value from what I remember. We didn't have a car but it was really easy to get around on bike, bus or boat Smile

We stayed in the top rate accommodation in the Eurocamp in Perschiera. I am an absolute holiday snob and wasn’t looking forward to it. It was the best holiday we have had as a family. It suited my small children, and we also walked into Perschiera for a few meals and to be the train for day trips to Verona and Venice. We ate out in the restaurant on the site and it was lovely. Fully air conditioned and private decking area it was really lovely. Lake Garda and that part of Italy is stunning

Hi Shook

I will check that out. TBH I am more than happy to stay on a campsite and I'm pretty sure my 2 boys would have a blast. My DH is a massive snob though when it comes to accommodation. He is used to staying in flashy 5-star hotels with his job whereas when I was a DC we used to go everywhere in our caravan and loved it!

I am an absolute holiday snob. I want keen but did it for my kids but honestly we loved it. I can’t remeber the name of the accommodation we had but it had the double decking which is enclosed and air con ect

Another holiday snob who loved the Garda campsites here - the dc were so happy I found it totally relaxing. We went back a couple of years later and had another great holiday.

Camping butterfly at peschiera. It's right on the lake (which a lot I looked at aren't) and about a 10 min walk into the town. Campsites wouldn't be my first choice either but the location was perfect.

Bella Italia campsite is right on the banks of the lake, walking distance to Peschiera, and has great pools. Fab area - I'd love to go back.

Shookethtothecore · 25/03/2019 22:35

Bella Italia is where we stayed

I've just booked a bungalow at Du lac et du parc resort in Riva del Garda. Looks really nice, decent pool and walking distance to town.

Camping del Garda is right on the lake (next to Butterfly) It's bigger than Butterfly but smaller than Bella Italia.

It was our first experience of mobile home camping but we were pleasantly surprised, and the kids (teens) enjoyed it.

no recommendations, but hope you have a lovely time. We went last year near Sirmione, it was beautiful and close enough to go to Verona to see the Opera, our main reason for going Grin
If you get the chance, even if not a fan, it's a hell of n experience.

I am not sure if this is the area that you have mentioned, but we stayed here. It was lovely.
Short walk down to the lake, and a short walk to restaurants etc.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

We are staying at Camping Spiaggio Doro this summer. Check out the beach and garden villas - they look nicer than the Eurocamp accommodation and the pool with water slides etc looks great. It’s a five minute walk to Lazise. It also has a private sandy beach - rare at Garda. It’s got good review so I’m hoping it will live up to them.

Last year we stayed at Camping Serenella which was near Bardolino and was also very nice but about a fifteen minute walk to town so we’ve gone for something a little nearer a centre this time.
