All inclusive Maldives

Hi All,

Looking for recommendations for an all inclusive resort in the Maldives from end of March/1st week of April 2020.

Preferably adults only and with an over water villa.

Not bothered about watersports or entertainment but I am a bit fussy re:food so somewhere with a few dining options would be ideal.

Thanks so much in advance for anyone with experience who may be able to help.

We're off to Kandolhu in September...it's a tiny but gorgeous island ( only 30 villas)in the N Ari Attoll with a fabulous house reef and 5 restaurants .......we're staying AI in a duplex pool villa , although there are some amazing over water pool villas but having been on trip advisor we've decided to go for a beach villa as I love walking on beach into sea
It's only available via Kuoni from U.K. although there are various suppliers suggested on trip advisor who can also do great deals

Thanks so much for that stopyourhavering64 (sorry I don't know how to highlight your user name!)

I have had a good look and it seems perfect.

Are you able to answer a couple of questions for me?

Did you arrive by seaplane or domestic flight and speedboat?

Also did you have to wait 3 hours at Male for your seaplane transfer if so? I have read a few reviews on TA that suggest this is the case and if so, but would rather know in advance if we do have to do this.

Thanks again, it's my 50th Birthday and really will be a once in a lifetime for DH and I.

I am full time carer for our DS who is severely disabled so this trip is going to mean everything to us!

LEELULUMPKIN we haven't actually been yet, but The staff in Kuoni Nottingham were extremely helpful in getting the correct flight to minimise time waiting at Male airport for the 20min seaplane transfer and then 10min speed boat transfer
We're flying with Emirates and arrive on early morning flight into Male....unfortunately there are no exact timetables for the seaplanes as it all depends on how the schedule is worked out night before and how many passengers going to individual islands etc!...so it's very difficult to give exact time scale
On way back we're getting first flight out of Male in the morning which means an early seaplane flight - apparently the pilots often sleep on the island (s) night before so the first flights of the day leave about 6.30am
There's a couple on trip advisor who are there at the moment (Stu and Nicki) so maybe send them a message via trip advisor for current timings?
It does look idyllic and gets rave reviews....can't wait to go

I think it really depends on your budget as you could spent £2k to 10k each for a week.

Vilamendhoo has an adults only area with pool, bar and restaurant. Sea plane transfer and one of the most highly regarded house reefs in the Maldives. Never had to wait longer than 90 mins for a seaplane.

Thanks so much to previous PPs, our budget is £8,000.

We're currently on Kandolhu right now if you have any questionsSmile

I can thoroughly recommend it. For such a tiny island the food options are incredible. There are 4 restaurants to choose from in an evening.

We are also staying in a duplex beach villa. They are extremely spacious but I think any villa on this island would be amazing.

We're all inclusive and you even get the mini bar in your room included (there's 30 bottles of wine in there!)

Hope that helps!

Have a look at Centara grand - the over water villas with pools and club access were fabulous.

In the Maldives budget is king, please don't go looking for adults only, there are so few kids go that very few resorts bother with adults only. Just pick a smaller island without children's amenities.

Trip advisor is very helpful on the forum, ask there.

I've been several times and I've waited from ten mins to a couple of hours for a sea plane, generally it's a short wait, but it's lovely, the sea plane terminal over looks the water, and you can sit on the waters edge, and get yourself a coffee or whatever. It's all good.
