Hi,
We would like to visit Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam on Saturday 13th April. Does anyone know how we can buy tickets in advance? Many thanks.

Why don't you google it

sackrifice · 08/03/2019 08:24

i googled 'anne frank's house tickets in advance' and it takes you to...the page where you can buy tickets to Anne Frank's house, in advance.

Many thanks - I googled it and it says - 80% of tickets are released exactly two months in advance at noon, 20% on the day itself. Every day at 9:00 am, the tickets for the day are made available on this site.
So, if 80% of the tickets have already been released, presumably some to ticket agents, where can I buy these? Or I need to log on at 9am on the day however I'd prefer to buy them in advance if at all possible.

It looks fairly obvious that you’ll have to buy tickets at 9am the morning of the day you want to go as there aren’t any tickets available at the moment.

The queues are absolutely massive (I know the area very well). Do you know where you will be staying? You might be able to obtain tickets if you're staying at one of the top end hotels with a good concierge.

When we went to Amsterdam we booked tickets in advance - I think about 2 months in advance? I think you’ll need to log on at 9am on the day itself

mumwon · 08/03/2019 09:52

we went to Amsterdam last year & couldn't book in advance but on the last say I was told at our hotel after breakfast that you could book on the day - which we did - & we went & queued for a short while before. Its fairly easy to do all the things you want on line or in the tourist office when you get there -

mstrotwood · 08/03/2019 09:53

Is there any chance that you could go on the 12th in the evening (tickets available)? It gets horribly busy especially during weekends and I would avoid visiting on a Saturday if at all possible.

GCAcademic · 08/03/2019 09:55

I went last year and kept constantly checking the website for a few days beforehand - eventually got a ticket the day before.

Disney2 · 08/03/2019 09:57

You literally just buy them on the museum website, all 80% don't sell out in advance. Just check whatever date you're going.

Hi Op. I had to book these tickets for my family when they made a last minute trip to Amsterdam. My understanding is they are only available on the Anne Frank website. You have to sign up on the website and essentially stalk it. I was on the website every half hour every day trying to book three tickets in the same timeslot. I got the tickets for early evening on the third day. It was impossible to get morning tickets, understandably, as this leaves little time to get to the location if you are buying on the day, so they are usually not made available, bar the random rare solo ticket. Afternoon and evening is all you can expect. They don't release them only at 9am, rather at half hour intervals every day throughout the day. Usually lots of tickets are released in those interals, which are snapped up like Glastonbury tickets, so have to be purchased really quickly. You have to be patient and keep refreshing your phone browser and not be picky with the time slot. Good luck

Disney2 · 08/03/2019 09:59

I just checked myself, you're seeing that message because they're sold out on the day you want. Can you go any other day?

SallySynonym · 08/03/2019 10:00

Agree with GCAcademic. We went last March and I was dismayed to find out that I had potentially missed out on tickets because I hadn't known about the two month release and there were no slots available for our preferred date, however someone on MN advised me that more tickets (cancellations) tend to be released in the days before so I just kept checking the site several times a day from about 10 days beforehand and it all turned out ok.

AmsterdamVisitor · 08/03/2019 10:05

Thanks everyone - I'll check our itinerary and see if we can go on the 12th April in the evening, Otherwise I'll check the website a few days before/on the day :)

I got tickets easily when we were going to Amsterdam - which was brilliant except our flight was cancelled and we couldn't go to Amsterdam at all. I emailed the museum really just so they would not be waiting for us on the tour and to my amazement they refunded the tickets. I hope that other people who can't get there do the same so there are cancellations available

chipsandpeas · 08/03/2019 18:23

dont leave it until the day before as you might not get any
if you know when u can go then just book its only 10.50 euro each person

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 09/03/2019 00:00

I booked ours in advance on the website before our cruise last year. Wasn’t tricky.

agteacht · 09/03/2019 10:53

Hello
I went last weekend. I hadn't booked tickets in advance so I logged on that morning but be warned there is also an online queue system. So log on around 8am for the 9am sale and you should get them. Worked for us on a Sunday.
