Questions about DLP

Mailfuckoff · 05/03/2019 10:02

We are going to DLP in May. We have standard meal plan included in the cost of the holiday. We are staying at Davy Crockett as driving over for various reasons.
My questions are ;
Which are the best buffet places to eat on a standard meal plan?
Can we use the nature springs swimming pool?
What are the best shows and rides? We did wdw last year so expecting something smaller and easier to plan.
What do I need to know
Thanks

Best buffet is Inventions in the Disneyland hotel but I don’t know if that’s part of your meal plan or not. If not, pay the extra and go. It’s really worth it.

We loved buffalo bills Wild West show.

Rides wise ratatouille is a must. We also love buzz but that’s also in florida.

I don’t think Inventions is available on a Standard plan. Restaurant Des Stars in Walt Disney Studios has a relaxed atmosphere, and lots of old photos from classic films and famous actors from back-in-the-day. The food here was truly delicious and there was a great variety (there were lots of Italian and French influenced dishes). We loved the ice cream and dessert bar. You can help yourself to soft-serve ice cream (think Mr. Whippy) and decorate it to your heart’s content with sweets and sprinkles. There were so many desserts and I was so stuffed from the delicious buffet…I need to go back again and this time save room for pudding!
The food at Plaza Gardens was also really good and there was plenty of variety. Like Restaurant Des Stars, it serves European food. It felt quite busy but we didn’t really mind.
La Cantina is well and truly Mexican themed in appearance but the food is only partially Tex-Mex. It is a great place to have a quiet early dinner, even in high season.
Billy Bob’s is another themed restaurant. It is divided into a ground floor which includes the bar, dance floor and stage where live music is performed regularly and the upper floor which is slightly more quiet. The bar serves everything you wish and the buffet menu is all American Texas BBQ style. If you don't like loud music, don't go.

Disneyland Park
Big Thunder Mountain - use Fastpass, but it is the most popular ride at Disneyland Paris, so Fastpass tickets run out quickly. You'll want to prioritize this ride.
Peter Pan’s Flight - this is often a Magic Hours ride.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril - an epic roller coaster in Adventureland. It has Fastpass, but you may not need it.
Pirates of the Caribbean - Fastpass is not available, so ride this one early to avoid a wait. It’s also in Adventureland.
Star Tours - Fastpass is available.
Hyperspace Mountain - in Discoveryland. Use a Fastpass preferably with a nighttime return window.

WD Studios
Ratatouille: The Adventure – You almost have to visit Walt Disney Studios Park just for this ride alone. You won’t find it at any other Disney park in the world and it’s so imaginative. Do it during Magic Hours.
Crush's Coaster - ride it early in the day, if possible.
Rock n Roller Coaster - Fastpass is available but it’s also a Magic Hours ride.
Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop - The single rider line is a good option with older kids (8 and up) who would rather ride fast than ride together.

Thanks, this is really useful.
Last question (maybe) I have a child with mobility issues who will need a wheelchair, does anyone know how difficulty it is to get round the parks?

Really easy with a wheelchair. Everywhere is reasonably flat and smooth and drop kerbs everywhere. Watch out for the tram rails down mainstreet. the arcardes out the back of mainstreet can be handy after the parades when its busy. Theres a ramp or lifts everywhere other than Alices labryth and the caves on adventures isle, sometimes they are a little hidden though (eg the shop in frontier land has a flat back entrance from the "fort", plaza gardens has a side slope wheelchair access)

Dont forget to apply for an accessibility pass.

Cafe Agrabah is without doubt the best standard board restaurant. Innovations is definitely not in the meal plan

Definitely try and see Mickey and the Magician in WDS, surprised this hasn’t been mentioned! Lasts around one hour, it’s a fab live show and so so worth watching
