It will be around 22C and normally sunny, stays light until almost midnight. We did Finland a few years ago to see the brown bears in the wild (ASD son who loves animals!) and that was similar temp and the most beautiful pink skies. Only issue is as its light for almost 24 hours kids argue its not time to sleep, its still light Grin

Smiledwithouttherisingsun we are staying in Camping del Garda, a less full on version of Bella Italia (or so I've heard). We use the campsite as a base for exploring. Usually do one day chilling at the pool/ at the campsite entertainment/ having a BBQ and the second out and about. So many places to see. I'm sure a fortnight wont be enough. We'll have to go back!

Lake Garda

Linguaphile · 09/03/2019 12:16

Mirmc that’s wise I think, we did Bella Italia a few years ago and never will again! Weekend is really lovely for a smaller family friendly parc.

Smiledwiththerisingsun we live on the continent, so it’s easier! It’s maybe 8 hours for us to get to the lakes, and then from there Slovenia is only a few hours.

Lake Garda is really brilliant for families, this year will be our third year back there. So much to do with boats, lake sports, cycling, visiting nearby cities (Verona, Padua, Venice all close), exploring ruins (check out Sirmione for a lovely afternoon and gelato!), etc.

In June we're going to Poo in Northern Spain (the children are keen to send everyone they know a postcard). Then Norway in August, basing ourselves in Bergen.

missyB1 · 10/03/2019 16:21

Menorca for a week in July, then a cottage in Dorset in August.

Budsbegginingspringinsight · 10/03/2019 16:30

@chilledout11

Have you Been to efteling before? It's utterly brilliant!!

jocktamsonsbairn · 10/03/2019 17:09

Skiathos in Greece for 2 weeks in the summer, Scottish western isles at Easter and Amsterdam in October.

sansou · 10/03/2019 20:28

Calvi, Corsica for a week in July.

Andalucia for a week at Easter. I have finally booked & paid for all the accommodation plus bought tickets for the Alhambra & the Caminito del rey. It will be a massive disappointment if Brexit stuffs up my long awaited visit to Granada, Cordoba & Ronda.

Early July, going to Jersey.

Want to do something very end of August/beginning of September before DS starts 6th form college. Not sure what yet. Maybe Estonia or Slovenia.

CountFosco · 16/03/2019 10:11

Orkney in August then Florence in October. Not been to Italy for about 20 years so really looking forward to it.
