How easy it to get painkillers (especially ibuprofen) in Lanzarote? Is it an over the counter jobbie (like here) or it is more difficult (like france)

Over the counter!

Awesome. So i can just take an emergency supply and get more if needed? i dont have to cover enough for everyone for the whole holiday taking into account if DD dislocates anything on day one and DS runs a temperature, my first aid kit will be slightly less bulging...Confused BlushGrin

I isn’t think you can get them inshops and supermarkets generally like here but youncan in the pharmacies ( along with ventolin inhalers luckily)
Just watch the dose though. The last ones I bought in Spain were 600mg per tablet whereas here it’s 200.luckily I noticed just before I took 2!

Just checked Pharmacy is apparently a 6 min walk. Not quite as good as the supermarket that is next door, but still doable

Maybe if you tell them it is for a child they might be able to sell lower dose tablets?

Agree that you can only usually get them in pharmacies, not supermarkets etc and check opening times. Some close at lunchtime Saturday until Monday morning.

Ones in tourist areas should be open and there's probably a weekend rota, but it might not be the nearest one. I've found painkillers to be more expensive than the UK though - a few euros a pack, rather than 40-50 pence.

Ventolin is cheaper there than on prescription here!

fuzzyduck1 · 26/02/2019 11:42

6min walk !!! Maybe you could get a taxi

fuzzyduck1 Wow that's worth knowing. I think there are other drugs you can buy OTC that are prescription only here, I was planning to get some steroid cream on my next trip.

fuzzyduck1 im not sure how to take your comment. i was saying the 6 mins walk as a good thing, as in at least it isnt miles away! Ive got one who dislocates stuff (currently knee) and one who can get very ill very quickly especially if he runs a temperature and uses a wheelchair. If its only 6 mins away i dont feel bad sending out my (70 year old) parents but all the same the supermarket next door would have been easier and quicker. It might be easier just to take a fair bit with me than risk the pharmacy not being open.
