Stroller Recommendation for Taking Abroad

Hello Smile

I'm looking to take my DD on her first holiday abroad. She'll be 11 months and I'm struggling to decide on a stroller to take with us.

I had initially decided on the Joie Pact but I'm not convinced how sturdy it is or how long it would last. I'm currently looking at the Joie Brisk but not sure if too heavy. Ideally I'd use it at home too on occasion.

Can anyone please give their recommendations on what they've used? Anyone taken the Joie Brisk abroad? Don't want to pay a fortune (max budget around £150). Thank you Mumsnetters Smile

We took the silver cross zest. We wanted one that would be suitable for a larger weight as our child is tall, have an extra large sun shade, light weight and lies flat.

Thanks Jackshouse - I'll go and have a look into that one

I bought the silver cross avia last summer. It was £200 but I think it's on offer at the moment. I was really pleased with it, soooo light. Only thing some people don't like (but it didn't bother me) is that you can't change the height of the handle bar.

Thanks Coppermine...I like the look of that one!

Mothercare is currently having a stroller sale.

Silver cross pop here. Lies flat and hood comes right down for sun protection and naps. Also not ridiculous expensive.

Oooh great - I'll get to mothercare tomorrow. Thanks again Smile

We are going abroad soon, I have the Joie Nitro for my 8 month old. Not been on the hols yet but have used it a few times locally and happy with it, the only criticism is that the brake is in a funny place that means bumping it up and down steps is theoretically impossible as the brake hits the step and turns on. The upside is that it's so light I can essentially lift the whole weight of it up and down each step with DD in it, to get around this (my house entrance is up 4 steep steps).

Thanks MeadowHay - the nitro is actually a bit of a bargain... thanks for pointing out the issue with the brake on steps. I have a good number of steps to bump up and down to get out of our house. I'll have a look at it though, thank you.
