Do you know Seville?

Is there any accommodation you could recommend for April (a few days before Easter) for a family of 4? To get something a little better, is it worth staying away from the centre of town?

Do you want hotel or self catering? If you want position we stayed at hotel Dona Lola apartment. Good position near the wooden mushroom supermarket just up the street and the best breakfast place cocomo just down the street. There's a plunge pool on the roof with a terrace to sit with sunbeds where you can have a picnic plus free WiFi if you want it. Not luxury though but clean and comfortable

No recommendations but I've just popped on to say how bloody lovely it is. I went in August but stayed in Islantilla 90 mins away. I wouldn't go in August again Grin

donajimena August in Seville sounds like my idea of hell. Can't stand such heat!

We'll have a car, so we could stay outside town, would prefer a hotel.

I was there yesterday funnily enough ( we own a property on the coast an hour away).
It was lovely but quite busy and agree that August would be awful.
The old town is great but I wouid probably try and stay on the other side of the river nearer the business district and walk into town ( unless dc are small). You would also be more likely to find a hotel with parking over there - although we used an underground one on Avenida de cristabel colon ( Christopher Columbus) and walked into town where we stayed in an apartment

The week before Easter is Semana Santa in Spain, especially in Andalusia. If you go make sure you know if everything is open you want to see, restaurants and shops and also see where processions are going Alain’s.

It can be great but if it hits you unprepared it can be chaos.

Hoppinggreen · 23/02/2019 09:35

Semana Santa can be fun but a bit nuts, hotels will be full and prices higher.
We go into town for the madness and then retreat about midnight

It's fun walking around Seville at night( even with tinies) I wouldn't want to be further away than walking distance.

Just got home yesterday from Seville. Stayed in a hotel called Casa del Poeta. It was fantastic. Boutique hotel, less than 20 rooms. We could walk to everything and didn’t have a car. It’s a very walkable city. We had a small suite in the hotel. Our 2 dds had a standard room which was lovely but quite small. Wonderful roof terrace to sit and drink wine, fabulous breakfast, complimentary Cava in the early evening with half hour Spanish guitar concert. Quite an adult vibe. Very peaceful. Maybe not one for small children.

Thank you everyone! Accommodation sorted.

Will happily read your 'must see' recommendations! Wink

I quite fancy a break here, is there much that would interest teens/tweens?

Hoppinggreen · 26/02/2019 18:17

My 10 and 14 year old really loved it
There are Segway tours and if they like food, shops, bit of history, maybe Flamnco they should enjoy Seville
