Playa Del Carmen showers on the beach

Heading to Lanzarote soon. DD wants to spend time on the beach which will be great- until she freaks out up sand on her skin then all playa Del Carmen will hear about it.

Are there any showers you can wash off as you come off the beach?

Work around, take bottle of tap water

Talcum powder. Loads of it on her skin to help brush the sand off.

I think there are showers, there usually are on Spanish beaches.

Another alternative to try, if DD is small, is that there are usually taps a couple of feet above the ground for rinsing feet, so you could use those.

We had something similar to this for camping

All Spanish beaches have showers - tall ones, and short ones for rinsing feet.

Talc is good on dry sand, not wet. Once you are totally dry and having an ice cream at a chiringuito, talc is good for between fingers and toes, around the decolletage (you, obviously!) and in the crooks of elbows.

She's a fully grown supposedly entirely neurotypical 13 year old!!! ShockHmmConfusedGrinGrin

Are we sure about the talc? Im worried adding another texture if i cant get both textures off quick enough might be a massive wrong step....

Foot showers would definitely help. Worse case scenario if she hasn't entirely lost the plot I'll lay ther down under them.

Are there places to top up bottles of water? We are limited in what we can carry a bit and DS gets through water abit

Im only anticipating we'll do the beach once.... it will go great to begin with Nana and Grandad will look at me with told you so eyes until DS' wheelchair gets stuck in the sand, DD loses the plot, DS gets sand in the wheeelchair and they both overheat. Then Nana and Grandad's told you so will Change to alarmed while i persuade an entirely freaked out 13 year old that she can in fact move with sand on. Then both of mine will remember why i give the beach a miss. And I wont have to do it again...GrinGrinGrin

Beach showers would make life significantly easier. Although then i might have to do it more than once....

I've never seen any on beaches, but about a year ago the apartment building we stayed at in Tenerife had a vending machine where you could fill a bottle with filtered water for a few cents.

Previously, most people in Spain just buy bottled water cheaply from the supermarket, but now everyone is trying to reduce their plastic usage, perhaps the vending machines will become more widespread, which is a brilliant idea, so I hope it does.
