Hi everyone, I'm in need of some major help. Looking for a holiday for this year to Turkey but I am completely useless at this kind of stuff as only been on holiday abroad once and that was to Spain and was an all inclusive package deal.
This year we want to go to Turkey and we are looking just for an apartment as going all inclusive for us is a waste of money as the kids are only interested in the pool and we don't drink, and also we need it to be as cheap as possible.
So there has to be a pool with it and it has to be near the beach, but I'm worried that we will be bored as if we are not all inclusive then I'm assuming we won't have any entertainment.
If anybody can help me it would be much appreciated as I am so lost with all this and just figured some of you lovelies might have been to Turkey and stayed somewhere you could advise of and whats round about and stuff.
Thanks again.

Hi, I used to live in Turkey so I may be able to help.

Have a look at Gumbet, near to Bodrum. There are a few nice apartments; Tropicana Beach or Greenhouse are 2 of the best. They both have entertainment and also there is lots going on in the resort. Everywhere is very family friendly so you wouldn't get bored at all. Eating out is very reasonable especially if you don't drink alcohol.

If you need any more help just pm me Smile

Sootica knows her stuff!!

She recommended me somewhere in Turkey (very quiet , just for me & DH) & we love it so much we are going back for the third time later this year.

We've been to many places in Turkey & eating out is very cheap, especially if you go a bit back from the sea front & look out for where the locals eat. And the food is delicious - I've never had a bad meal in nearly 20 years of going there!

Definitely Bodrum/Gumbet area - not the best beach but it's a lovely area generally and very pretty. You can do great day trips from there, lots of restaurants and cafes, a stunning castle. Have an amazing time

We went to Olu Deniz....loved it. AI though, so can't help with the apartment side of things

Thank you all. I was looking at bodrum and saw a few places that look lovely, but when i went to look at flights to there i found out that they are crazy expensive 🙄 typical.

Have you looked at Skyscanner for flights?

How about Antalya. The hotels have great pools and a lot have waterslides and funfairs in them and they are very reasonably priced.

Agree with looking at sky scanner for flights.

Antalya/Lara beach/Belek tend to be mainly All Inclusives. Whilst not on the beach, I'd recommend Dalyan as it doesn't have any big hotel/AI type places so I think it caters better to self catering and eating out imo.

There is a brilliant beach, but you need to jump on the river boat or dolmus/bus to get there. It's really no hassle though and the boat ride is particularly lovely and I think about 20 minutes or so. Dalyan has a play park in the town square, a market, great restaurants and decent shops for food etc. Not too far from the airport and as the taxi driver says, "no boom, boom, boom" it's easy to book trips and tours through local agents, the kids would enjoy the jeep safari and maybe a boat cruise where you can jump from the boat and swim in the sea in lovely crystal clear water.

We stayed in a Villa with private pool which was linked to the Club Alla Turka hotel, but there were lots of apartments etc around.

I love Turkey :)

Turkey is wonderful. Cheap, lovely weather, wolcoming people. I love it there.
