Best website to find long haul flights

I have got some unexpected time off work and I want to book a long haul trip somewhere, maybe Canada or US.

What's the best website to find flights? I want one that I can look at different dates to find the cheapest, as I am flexible on dates.

Google flights for prices and price tracking plus price change alerts by email (tends to be up to date whereas Skyscanner prices can be up to 15 days old). Secret Flying email list for flights departing UK for bargain alerts. The airlines own sites (register and join mailing list) for notifications of sales and offers.

Jacks flight club
It’s also worth playing about on Expedia and opodo. And regularly delete cookies (that might just be a mythWink) And on a big screen! We once noticed we could go away for two weeks for cheaper than 10 days just when we played around with didfeeent options only visible on a full website.

Another one for Jacks flight club

we have used momondo and skyscanner and just played around with non direct flights. always clear cookies - they aren't a myth.

Sounding like a sheep here but join Jack's flight club.

Google flights as well.

But Secret Flying and a couple of other similar sites (Fly4free, airfare watchdog etc) and Jack's flight club all send the same deals anyway, except they are all free whereas Jack's you have to pay for. They all seem to 'source' many of the deals from the same place anyway (Frequent flyers forums).

I don’t rate Jacks Flight club.

Skyscanner is good for initial research but worth checking agencies (we use travel republic) and direct with the airlines too. BA was really cheap to Canada last year, barely more than the taxes!
