Rides at Disneyworld

I need some help from those of you in the Disney know! Grin

When we go later this year DSD will be 7 but DD will only be 18 months. Can you please tell me what rides we could all go on in each of the parks i.e no height restrictions? And which ones are worth using a fast pass, if any?

Thanks! Smile

Look at this site www.thedibb.co.uk
disney website has a wealth of information too.

Getting to the parks for opening time will get you on any ride once with minimum delay.

If there’s just the 3 of you going you should prepare to find out you can go on almost none of the popular rides together, sorry.

Don't forget you can do the baby swap thing on pretty much all the height restricted rides.

DSD will want to go on slinky dog and runaway mine train.

You can also get separate fastpasses so if you and any other adults want to go on the "big" rides, while the other goes to say look at the dragon under the castle or at the Christmas shop or whatever!

With careful planning you can go on a couple of small rides with all of you, then a baby swap ride. Then one adult can nip off to go on a big ride etc etc - there is so much to see and do, at 18 months they don't need to go on everything.

Sadly mine are much older so can't help but did come on here to post about TheDibb too.

British people talking all things Disney- very friendly board, I am on there Wink

There are lots of people who take toddlers so they will be the best ones to ask.

I am also going to recommend EasyWDW.com especially the cheat sheets and the maps which colour code as to which rides to hit first. And that they are totally doable.

easywdw cheat sheets

Joe and Ashley aka seeyareelsoon are a married couple who we met (on purpose) in Disney World, they post lots of videos featuring travelling on Disney buses from Pop Century etc and walking to and from rides so it gives you a feel for the place.

They have a 21 month old son now so took him a little while back, there are lots of videos on their YouTube channel showing the realities of a toddler at Disney. SeeYaReelSoon

We have been several times. We love the place!

You will have an amazing time - it’s very young family focused. Height restriction wise there are loads you can all go on especially in the Magic Kingdom - I have fond memories of taking dd2 on dumbo and it’s a small world when she was 2 months old. But bear in mind they not be appropriate. Think about how your dc react to the dark, loud noises and motion as some rides are in the dark (I find a glow stick helps), and some spin round etc There’s also all the usual bizarre toddler fear stuff like my dc at two was terrified of the muppets because there was a huge vacuum cleaner and if they don’t like insects don’t go to ‘it’s tough to be a bug’. Make full use of fast pass and baby swap so you don’t have to stand in line too long but also prepare for long queues- so snacks and little activities for while you wait are a good idea.

We went last year and my youngest was just 2. So many things to go on at magic kingdom. The little mermaid ride, Winnie the Pooh, it's a small world, dumbo. Just loads! Animal kingdom is great too for safari but there aren't loads of rides there for little ones, more shows and animals! Epcot has a good nemo ride and aquarium. Hollywood studios has toy story land but not loads in general for little ones.

Download a waiting times app and see which ones have generally have the biggest queues and get fast passes for those. I found it easy to get them for all the young rides to be honest.

Also get fast pass for meeting their fav characters, that was a godsend!

If you can afford it the character meals are lovely too. We did the Winnie the Pooh one at the Crystal Palace. It was so lovely!

Have fun!

There’s really not much for toddlers at a Hollywood Studios or Epcot.
It goes without saying that Magic Kingdom is the best. Here’s a selection of rides that you can all enjoy.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a gentle boat ride through a Caribbean city of pirates. There's a little drop at the beginning of the ride and it's dark, but if you warn your DD and make it playful, they should be able to ride without much trouble.
Jungle Cruise is a river raft ride with animatronic animals and corny jokes! Every Jungle Cruise Skipper has their own "routine" with jokes so every ride is a little bit different. I would just tell her ahead of time that the animals are all pretend.
Peter Pan’s Flight is where you board ride vehicles that are suspended from the top, and glide over charming scenery in the dark. Although the ride takes place mostly in the dark, it doesn't typically scare little ones. Very popular ride so you should definitely use FastPass+ to avoid long lines.
Enchanted Tales with Belle is one of the most unique and newest attractions at Disney World, this attraction includes entering Maurice's cottage and seeing characters from Beauty and the Beast come to life. Great to visit in the afternoon to get out of the heat.
Under The Sea - although Ursula can be really scary for little ones, she appears fairly briefly at the end and isn't nearly as scary as she is during the show at Hollywood Studios.
The Adventures of Winnie The Pooh is really popular with little ones and if you ride this after the first hour, you'll probably need a FastPass+ to avoid lines.
Dumbo is good for little ones (but it only seats two people) and there’s also a fun play area to visit while waiting. Although you can get FastPass for this, the indoor play area is only available to those who wait in the regular line.
The Magic Carpets is essentially Dumbo but with carpets, but you should all be able to fit in it together. If you need to pare down your list of rides to fit them all in, this is definitely one that could be taken off.
The Prince Charming Carousel is a good time filler. Look for the horse with a gold ribbon on its tail - that one belongs to Cinderella!
The WDW Railroad isn’t so much a ride but is still fun. Same for the Liberty Square Riverboat. Mostly standing room only, find a spot on the top deck to snap some good pics of nearby attractions.
The Tomorrowland Peoplemover is not a top priority but it is a nice break that most people seem to enjoy. Although the line can sometimes look long (especially after Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor lets out), the line usually moves quickly.
These are just the rides. Of course, there are lots of suitable shows and entertainments.
