Eurocamp

Has anyone been to any of the Eurocamps? Would you recommend it?

We haven't had a family holiday since before my 4yo arrived and we would like to take one this year.

I also wondered if people can advise on whether it's a bit late now to book a decent holiday for this summer now? When is a recommended time to book for a family holiday?

We've been to loads of Eurocamps, mainly in Spain and Italy, our dc loved them when they were small. Eurocamp are really hopeful over the phone and will tell you where they have vacancies if you ask.

Eurocamp have gone downhill, tired accommodation and poor pitches. Find a campsite you like and book direct instead. Look at Duinrell, theme park and water park on site. Near Amsterdam. By the beach

I agree with hollow have a look at the sites you fancy then contact the site direct and book lots of the Holland sites are wonderful or northern France brilliant etc.

I stopped using Euro camp when we arrived on site and the man In charge said. Your pitch is rubbish pick from these 3 much better; they are (meaning eurocamp) useless. We picked a pitch and next day went to see what the Eurocamp pitch was like bearing in mind they had lots on the site scattered about. Ours was right at the top of the site in the trees and not a flat space in it to put our tent nowhere near toilets or anything. We found out that the area was the overspill for cyclists etc with small tents in the height of summer but eurocamp despite being told other pitches where available had insisted this was ours when they made the booking. So glad the manager of the site was sensible.

When we arrived at our eurocamp mobile home last year I refused to stay there. It was next to a rusty fence overlooking a building site with weeds growing through the decking. Staff accepted it was very poor and we're v apologetic. Luckily they had a different mobile home that had a cancellation. It was tired decor wise but had a better pitch. I would not book with them again. Real shame as 10 years ago they were good.

We stayed in a eurocamp in Italy (lido di jesolo) and paid a lot of money as it was during summer holls. The accommodation was so dated and cost 1000 for a week. It put me off using them again to be honest with you! The facilities around the camp were great but I think they need to invest in their accommodation a little more.

Op euro camp is misleading.

Most places are campsites and on the sites you can rent mobile homes from CANVAS, euro camp, the owners of the site and so on. Usually euro camp doesn't get great reviews these days..

Look for camp sites and then read reviews on who to book caravan with.

Yes good point ^^
Eurocamp put their (generally crappy) mobile homes on other peoples camp sites. They don't own the site. Then you arrive and find the site owners rent out much higher standard of accommodation themselves!

We've had 10 years of brilliant holidays with Eurocamp with our children, 9 and 12. We are already booked again for this coming summer.

I'd agree that you can tell they're trimming extras these days, ie our 'Welcome' package in the post before we leave had diminished massively from toys for the children, quality canvas beach bags, maps of the area etc etc, to an attachment to print off with information about the area.

However....

We've had only lovely memorable family holidays. We have visited the Vendee and Brittany and have had clean, pretty campsites (4 star) with perfectly acceptable tents and caravans.

We investigated booking direct with the campsite at the place in Brittany which we have visited twice already and it was more expensive, not cheaper as suggested.

Our first holiday with our dad, age 2, was so special. We stayed in a tent on a pretty, clean site full of families with toddlers/younger children. We loved the flexibility it offered- beach in the morning, back to the tent for nap time, lunch, pool for the afternoon, BBQ then she slept at 730 and we read our books and drank wine, it was bliss.

Pick your site carefully- we always go for 'small' and 'peaceful'. We've had excellent couriers, quiet sites, just fantastic holidays. I can let you know which if you would like.
