Dh and I want to eat out on Monday night - for the first time in ages without the children. We like Greek and French food - not together, obviously. Can anyone reccommend somewhere good - but not too expensive? I will be driving so we will need to be able to park.
Thanks.

Don't know the area I'm afraid, but I do often use www.toptable.co.uk to find and book places to eat out. Usually a good selection of food types and prices. Reviews are useful, and many restaurants have special offers if booked thro' TopTable. Have a great meal (sham one of you has got to drive!

Goucho's in on the riverside in Richmond. it's quite new and really good but towards the pricey side.

My parents go here a lot and swear by it. Don't know if there's on-street parking, but there are a couple of pay-and-displays not too far away.

loads of places what kind of price range?

The Coffee Pot in Isleworth is a greasy spoon by day Thai by night and does some of the best Thai food around but not romantic (in Isleworth on the main London Road)

Brula in St Margarets has a good reputation

Michelin starred Glasshouse in Kew is fab fab fab.

Kew Bistro is also excellent and more reasonable

There are lots of lovely little restaurants in Richmond in and around the town centre. On a Monday night you could just turn up and see which one you fancy.

Kewcumber · 30/06/2007 14:00

but lots of the good restaurants are closed on Monday night so I'd ring first

Ma Cuisine in Twickenham is worth a look. It's a bistro (so not particularly romantic, if that's what you want).

When we went, we didn't have a very good meal but almost everyone else we know who's eaten there has loved it (I think we must have just got a bad night).

Virtually next door is Ma Cuisine's posher sister, La Brasserie McClements.

Oh goodness, I'd given up a bit and now there are lots of ideas! Thanks everyone! It is so long since we have been out just the two of us. I was not particularly thinking of romantic - although it will be our silver wedding anniversary on Tuesday. Thanks again for the ideas.

oh yes Ma cuisine in Kew thats what I meant by the Kew Bistro - very nice and parking much easier than Richmond in the evenings.
