First Time Cruiser Looking at some advice for P&O

I'm looking book my honeymoon for a Caribbean Cruise with P&O in November 2020. No dates have been released yet as it's so far in advance but I want to book it quite early on and want to make sure I do everything right!

I was looking at some of the ones for November this year and they have the Select Price and the Early Saver. There's quite a big difference and for us we're not particular bothered about which cabin we have or our dinner times but I keep thinking about how the cruise shuttle buses are included with the Select but not Early Saver.

It's going to the islands in the Caribbean so I wondered if anyone had done it before and if the Select Price would be better for things like the shuttle bus or if you can just hop off and wonder round? I don't want to get left behind!

Plus does anyone know roughly how much spending money to take? I like the idea of doing a few excursions but don't know how much they'll cost.

Thanks!

Have a look at What’s in Port and Cruise Critic to give you an idea of what the ports are like: for some you don’t need to use the shuttle buses because you arrive straight in the centre.

Have a look at Cruising Excursions for ideas of th sorts of activists the islands themselves offer.

You may have you to share tables unless you go Select.

Honestly, my only advise is to look at other cruise liners, went on P&O once and thought their level of service was abysmal compared to the American liners like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, would never go with them again.

Really dislike P& O, very mediocre quality. If you are looking for a larger ship then Celebrity is a good happy medium. As a rule I would avoid p&o,carnival, msc, costa.

Agree with the other posters. P and O are very middle of the road - you want something better for your honeymoon. Don't worry about shuttles in the Caribbean as most ships dock a short stroll from the centre or a lot of places will put free shuttles on to the shops - as that is where they want you. Berlitz cruise guide should be your Bible so you can do lots of research on the lines and the ships. Most of the better lines have loads of tables for 2 and free style dining. I can't imagine you will want a set meal time or a shared table. Excursions are usually silly money. We avoid them like the plague and do our own thing. If you buy (or get a drinks package included) then you really have very little extra costs on a cruise. They are BRILLIANT.

Having done 13 cruises I wouldn't touch P&O if it was free, went with them last year ship was grubby cabin flooded with sewage three times, many of the toilets blocked, never again!
