We loved it. It is hellish expensive but you don’t need to cripple yourself iykwim.
We stayed in an old apartment in the student area near the Round Tower. Loads of Netto supermarkets( don’t shop at Irma as pricier than Waitrose). There is a lovely organic stand under the Round Tower and they’re very reasonable, can come with sides like root mash. The company has stands elsewhere in the city.
We ate out once at Riz Raz I think it was. Unlimited veggie buffet and lovely big burgers for the kids. Not too expensive.
I took pasta and cereal, coffee for our stove top coffee maker. Our old apartment had loads of store cupboard basics to use. We used to buy Danish pastries, pizza and massive sandwiches for the day from Saint Peders bakery( oldest bakery in Copenhagen)near our apartment which were pretty reasonable.
Only go to Tivoli once in the evening to see the lights and get the ride passes. The harbour boat company does a deal I think. Trivolinis where we wasted money. Went twice, didn’t get ride passes or the harbour deal. You can recycle your drink cups at Tivoli so do hold on to them as you’ll get money back.
There are no tat shops( only in Tivoli)so you won’t waste your money there.
A trip to Louisiana is a must and you can take a picnic.Went over the bridge to Malmo Sweden but didn’t like the city although we had great meatballs in a lovely old pub,I’d go further into Sweden on that train route to a nicer city. The bridge and journey itself were worth doing, very easy.
Think we did The Cooenhagen Museum with the bog people which wasn’t too expensive and walked everywhere. Boat ride in the harbour is a must do too.
