As a family we're quite useless at holidays. We've never had a bad one, but we don't often go away and are a bit useless at knowing what's out there.

2 years we did DisneyLand in Florida. It was great but we don't want a mad/busy type of holiday this time.

5 years ago on MN someone recommended us a Sensatori Thompson holiday. We ended up going to Tenerife, which we loved.

We will have a 14 yr old and a 12 yr old. We're after a holiday that's hot, relaxing, all inclusive, good entertainment, maybe some good water parks nearby and the option of some good day trips out etc.

We quite like to go 4 or 5 star so higher end.....maybe spend up to 7k? But obviously less if we can without scrimping on quality.
we haven't ruled out longhaul.

Any been on a fabulous holiday recently? At the moment I feel like we're blindly sticking a pin in a map.

How about Mexico? Playa del Carmen or Cancun areas.

Coralnails · 02/01/2019 20:15

I was going to suggest one of the Greek Islands, I love Zakynthos.

But then I noticed your budget so you might be going for something a lot nicer.

I mean this kindly, I can't believe you're struggling, with that budget you can take your pick, we are looking around for under 3k which is more tricky.

Thanks for your replies.

It's not that I'm struggling to find anywhere with the budget, I just have no idea where to look! Sorry, I know it seems very first world problems....

Sardinia? All inclusive hotels are lovely there.

Coralnails · 02/01/2019 20:50

I didn't mean that to sound as rude as it did, I'm just a bit envious!

I do know what you mean it's hard to know even where to start.

Would you consider a cruise?
It works so well with our teens, relaxing and yet busy with visiting new places on port days. Teens have freedom whilst on the ship.
We like Celebrity cruises, there are plenty of children during the holidays but not hundreds. Other lines are more child focussed, depends what you like.
You could have a fortnight in the med for your budget with a balcony. We book when drinks packages are included as a perk so the only additional costs are gratuities, speciality dining (optional) and cost of any tours or excursions in port (which can be as much or as little as you like).

As PP said Sardinia is a really good shout or Cape Verde. Also really enjoy the Ikos resorts if you fancy Greece?

Sounds like you're overthinking it a bit Smile.

If you're mainly looking for a relaxing warm weather pool beach holiday, it doesn't particularly matter where you go.

If you put your details (date, departure aiport, party size) into jet2holidays deals section and then refine for AI and discount any destinations you're not interested in, you'll be down to a few hundred holidays that you can filter by price, review score and maybe things like nearby waterpark, pick one at random and see if it looks OK and book that.

Or maybe google 'best waterparks in Europe' and book a package holiday near to one of them. If you've been to Tenerife, you'll have been to Siam Park, but there's also a couple on the Costa del Sol and probably plenty of others around.

What about Turkey - you should be able to get a lovely 5 star all inclusive for your budget -many of the hotels have great water parks on site, and the hotels are beautiful

Or I would second a cruise - we’ve been twice with our teenagers and they’ve loved it - as have we!

Op why don't you go to a travel agents on the high street?
They will guide you through the process.
