Hi there.

We are heading to Nice in France in March and wondered where is the best location to stay with a family please ?

Also has anyone got any recommendations on what to do whilst we are out there ?

We stayed in a hotel that was a B&B. Think it was called the Riviera?

The old town is lovely to walk around, and the town itself is great to people watch. The promenade is great for a long walk. The weather will be lovely in March 🌞

We have been 3 times and rented an apartment with Nice Pebbles. We chose one near the sea/ harbour/old town/a supermarket.
We have enjoyed the splash pads (may be too early), Monaco aquarium, FOOD, wooden playground, Parc Phoenix, I suspect the steam train doesn't run in March, but it's only for patient children really as the non-steam bit is very long.
If it rains there's a small soft play in a shopping centre. The lift up to the castle and mini train down.
Beach wise Nice is not great but the beach at Villefranche is OK. Again it may be too early.

Oh you can rent bikes and scooters on the prom.

Take a bus to Cap Ferrat. Beautiful to walk around.

The train along the coast through Monaco and Menton to Ventimiglia in Italy is s nice day out. YY to Monte Carlo - chsngibgbif the guard, prince’s car collection, aquarium, ogling the super yachts in the harbours (google their names to, to bring blind away at his much they are worth!).

Be careful booking as the promenade is Looooonnggg...so you want to be as near the old town as possible..or you will have a trek every morning/ evening.

Visit st Paul de hence. And take a train to dolce aqua In Italy. Love Nice!

Thank you ! Fantastic responses.

Is old town a particular place ?

I’ve tried nice pebbles already but not a lot to offer unfortunately. (Might be because it’s out of season)

Yes, vielle ville is one specific area.

I just looked at Nice Pebbles for the last week in March, two beds, there were 22 places available. Maybe I'm using unhelpful parameters though.

Inwaiting · 01/01/2019 18:26

I’ll have another look now as nice pebbles have been recommended lots of times

Do you think this one may be a good one to head to ?

That one is in an excellent position.

bitofabelly · 01/01/2019 23:50

Super location..exactly where you want to be

Inwaiting · 02/01/2019 05:47

Thanks! For some strange reason it says it’s available on the search but when you go to book it says it’s unavailable in March. I’ve contacted nice pebbles and requested for them to make some recommendations based on requirements and availability. Fingers crossed !

That apartment gets great reviews, but another j was looking at doesn't, just to be mindful in case they try and offer you an alternative.

The beach at villefranche is one of my favourite places in the world! It's not huge pebbles like nice, it's very fine and we preferred it to sand. The views etc are stunning as is the town.
Definitely stay in or near Old Town nice, and
Car hire is very cheap but also trains are good there.
If you have the chance don't miss antibes, St Paul de Vence, villefranche etc.

And Eze is lovely too
