Travelling in a long flight with a 8 week old baby

I will be travelling from London to India with my lo who has just turned 8 weeks. Have got her BCG vaccination done and will be getting the first dose of 6-1 vaccination before going. The following two doses of 6-1 vaccine will be given in India. It is a 9 hour non stop flight. Has anyone travelled with a 8 week old baby in that long a flight? Any suggestions of do and don'ts and experiences would help. Also are these vaccines standard worldwide? Has anyone given the 6-1 vaccines in two different countries?TIA

Make sure you consider the risks/ prevention of DVT for yourself.

We did Australia many times when DS was little. It’s easier when they are small. Request a bassinet if not already done so. Feed on take off and landing. Take more clothes and nappies than you think you will need.

We were very lucky, DS slept quite well. It was the cabin noise I think as it was a bit like white noise. Cabin Crewe are usually very helpful if travelling along with a tiny baby.

Vaccination schedules vary round the world. India is unlikely to follow the same schedule as the NHS, but it may be possible to find the vaccination schedule on line and compare.

More clothes, nappies (and milk if bottle feeding) for baby than you think. Change of clothes for you. Feed on take off and landing.
Consider taking a sling. Baby will have to be forward facing when the seatbelt sign us on, but can be useful in the airport if the pushchair is delivered back with the suitcases.....

Do your best to soothe baby if she crys, but don't worry about what anyone around you says or does.

I did a 27 hrs to NZ when my daughter was 8 weeks old- it was fine. We had a bassinet and when she wasn't feeding she was in it - the airline staff were really helpful as well and staggered our meals so one of us could eat first. My biggest advice is bring twice as many nappies as you think you will need and lots of vests!!

I did two 7 hr flights with a four hour break at 6 weeks old. I found it easier than with a toddler. At that age they sleep, eat and poo. The only thing that could be hard is if you need the loo and are on your own. We returned after a year and a half, so my child had some vaccinations there and some here. He seems fine.
