We want a flight sub 3 hours from London, with hot ish temperatures early April. It'll be for dh, myself and the kids 8 and 5.

Thinking Vilamoura? But on all ears to other suggestions.

We are actually doing a cruise on the 7th April from Italy going down to Naples. Sicily, Malta Barcelona and Marseilles. We did book it a while ago but only paid £450 pp for the week which includes all meals and entertainment...the flights were just £87 return.....great holiday for kids and parents - with Spa and heated pools on board.

We went to Rhodes a couple of years ago and it was lovely. Booked hotel with indoor pool in Rhodes Town in case of poor weather, but it was actually lovely. Days were short though and it cooled when the sun went down.

Cyprus but is slightly longer than your flight time criteria

Costa del Sol averages 320 days of sunshine a year, so it’s a fairly safe bet, but no guarantees of course.

We went 12th-26th one year, had one cold wet day, the rest was glorious & kids in pool and/or sea every day; sand too hot to walk on barefoot occasionally! Evenings warm too.

Only problem with it being low season is that lots of attractions aren’t open yet.

Cyprus can be really rainy in April. It's the last of the rainy time and we've known it to be either torrential or beach weather.

Certainly not guaranteed sun

Thanks for all the ideas! Flight time is important due to genuine phobia of flying; the absolute shortest the better.

Malta is out as we go so often anyway. Southern Spain were doing in the summer so I'd like somewhere different. It doesn't need to be swimming weather but nice to walk in a T-shirt along the beach etc.

You could look at Corfu then. Relatively short flight time (c 3 hrs), as it’s this side of Greece, & reasonable temps last April though spring does tend to be a bit unreliable.

We’ve stayed in Kassiopi 3 times, it’s a lovely friendly little town Smile Lots of nice walks & a pretty harbour with various boat trips.

Oh, it’s also only about an hour by road from Corfu town which is a total delight. Driving is not at all scary (like some places in Spain & Italy!) but there are good buses too, so you could manage without a car.
