Need Advice on a Good Campsite in France - Complete Novice!

My DH has come up with the marvellous idea today of booking a weeks camping (in a mobile home) in France for the end of August. (We were planning to go to Turkey but he insists it will be too hot!) I have googled a lot today but would love some advice. We live in Great Yarmouth, so I think the best way would be to go Dover to Calais although I realise there would be a long drive once there. I have looked at Normandy and possibly Brittany at a push, but just am not sure what sites to pick as there are so many. We have two boys aged 9 and 3 who love water, so a really good swimming pool with lots of waterslides etc. would be a bonus. Would also like quite a lively park and if possible near a beach. (I dont want much do I!) I need to be convinced that this is a better idea than going to Turkey! Please someone help me make a choice!

Key Camp - St Jean de Monts is a great campsite with lovely mobile homes and lovely pool and shutes etc.
It's a a couple of miles drive to the beach but the beaches are beautifully clean and the water is lovely and warm.
There's not much to actually do in the Vendee itself as it's a very flat, rural region but if you mainly want pools/waterparks etc, it's great.

I have heard good things of this one from friends but have not been there myself.
We went to a lovely one down past La Rochelle earlier this summer...but it was a 500 mile drive from Calais (good roads, but tiring).
However ours was accurately marketed as a smaller, quieter parc, and its swimming pool was lovely and fine for our needs but not extensive.

We went to Carnac in Brittany with Canvas holidays and stayed in one of their mobile homes. I was 8 months pregnant with DS, already had DD who,was 2 and friends who came with us had a 1 yearold. We had a fabulous time both on the camp site and in the local area. I would highly recommend it.

If you live in Great Yarmouth would going Harwich/Hook of Holland to here be an alternative?
Duinrell sounds like a cross between Keycamp, Centreparcs and Alton Towers, and all the Mners I know who have been there adore it. (Martianbishop has been several times).
