Booking separate rooms!

Hi we love to get away when we can but finding our lives a little restricted now due to health problems. My dh and I have both struggled through cancer, both thankfully in remission atm. My dh also has Parkinson’s and because of this we now need separate rooms. We have tended to go selfcatering because of this but it’s not much of a break for me. He would love to go on a cruise but there is no way we could afford two cabins. My inbox gets bombarded with lots of lovely offers for weekend hotel breaks but they are always based on two sharing. Any ideas please? Thank you.

How about a youth hostel? Most have single rooms, so you could book 2. They are also do all meals now, so you don't need to self cater.

Have a look at Knoll House Hotel in Studland, Dorset. They have single rooms and two bedroom suites. They are not too expensive. Beautiful setting and indoor / outdoor pool.

Why do you need separate rooms, would a twin room with plenty of space for equipment etc or a family room suit. Otherwise what about premier inns which are generally nice and priced per room so you would just get two.

Some cruises do specialise in cheap single rooms - maybe a chat with a travel agent would be worth your while. One has small single rooms that all lead onto a communal lounge but I can't remember which that is.

Have a Google of apartment hotels, and see what the cost is like.
For totally different reasons, we basically want 2 adjoining rooms, and these are the way we get them, and the benefits of the hotel facilities.

Hey triplets how are you doing?
Have you looked at the The Grove in Bournemouth? It's a specialist hotel for cancer patients and those with life-limiting illnesses.

Hi things been hectic! Thank you for your replies and ideas. I get no sleep being in the same room as my dh gets up 3/4 times a night and often has hallucinations which is part of having Parkinsons. Looking for somewhere on the 22nd March for my birthday, he is insisting on taking me away somewhere. Only want to be 2/3 hours drive away, we live in Kent. Pretty broke atm as a week ago today it was my trios 21st birthday!
