Car Seats on transfers

Hi all, i'm about to book a package holiday to Italy next year with Tui. According to their FAQs - they don't provide car seats for children on their airport transfers - whether by coach or taxi, and advise to bring your own. I have a 6 year old and a four year old and they both have massive high backed booster seats - is this what everyone else does? Do you fly with them and then get the hotel to store them for you when you get there? Or will we look like oddballs?

I haven't had a holiday in donkeys years so not sure how other people manage this? Thanks

We've never taken car seats on holiday for coach transfers. The kids just sat in the seat with the seatbelt on

I have never taken car seats on holiday abroad. As per previous poster a normal seat will do though I did get the heebie jeebies when DS was once squeezed between the driver and front seat passenger on a wooden plank.

After much deliberation about this for a recent week away with my ds5 I bought a mifold seat from Amazon. I was really dubious because it's so small but it was fab. We had a couple of practise runs in the UK before we left so we knew exactly how to set it up etc and it really was great, getting the seatbelt in exactly the right position across ds's lap and on his shoulder (rather than without it which meant the belt went over his belly and neck)and the best bit was it was do small I could shove it in my hand luggage incase the suitcases went missing and on days our for unexpected taxi/bus journeys.

I bought mine inflatable booster seats called Bubble Bums - had loads of use out of them since, too. I’d recommend.
