Hi all,
bit desperate here and not sure where to search. Does anyone know of any baby friendly resort where i can get help if i need it so that I can escape my horrible husband for a few days, and take along my toddler (20month DS very active) and my bump (15 weeks pg).
I am so sad, Id easily just book into a nice hotel, but I know I will struggle unless there are lots of good things to do and maybe even some help from staff. Somewhere not too far from London - couple of hours drive?
centre parcs looks nice but pricey...
thankyou

center parcs is not too bad in fact because all you really need to pay is the accommodation. once you get there it is very very easy not to spend money when you have small children. there are loads of soft play areas plus outdoor areas- not sure but think they all have a 'beach' and then of course the pool. all this is included in the price. the supermarket is not pricey eg milk is about 2p more a pint, and i would recommend you take as much food as poss anyway. the cabins have cooker, microwave, fridge etc.
the only downside is that if you are there on your own you may feel very lonely because it is such a family oriented place and probably no one would include you, not because they don't want to, but everyone is busy doing their own thing.

center parcs is good and agree that it can be cheap if you take your own food and self cater all week. swimming, play areas etc all free. plus buy cheap loaf and feed ducks, run around the park/woods etc to tire him out.

But agree that it could be pretty lonely alone.

Although, if you're prepared for just some quaity time with ds, then you can read, watch tv/dvds in the evenings etc it could be a good break.

Wish I could think of somewhere else for you but I can't at the mo. Will keep thinking though...

what abpout a mobile home on a campsie? Probably a bit cheaper and they usually loads of kiddie type entertainment. have seen other parents at these places on their own with kids. they usualy have pools etc.
Other option is somewhere like Butlins where DS would get worn out all day at Bob'sbuilding yard. they also have kids entartainment on in the Skyline - puppet show etc and kids play areas. We went to Minehead when dd was 2 and she loved it (as sis ds who's 1 year older). Mini discos etc in the evening if he's still on the go. the accomm is a bit basic but you can self cater or go HB. Food on site is proicey, but holiday is cheap and you can use Tesco vouchers. Bit tacky but DS will be busy ALL day! Not our usualy type of place but the dcs loved it.
