Granada with tweens

Off to Granada with DC 12 and 10 for February half-term. The adults have been before (and loved it) but the kids haven't. Guides to 'top tips for Granada with kids' are more geared to little ones - mine are too old to be excited by a lovely big park! Also, a lot of them major on things to do to keep cool, which isn't going to be a problem in February...

Plans so far are: Alhambra (I know about booking tickets in advance) and probably on a different day, the Generalife. Segway tour. Maybe the Roman baths. Mooching around the Albaicin and the Jewish Quarter eating tapas. What else? They're okay with a bit of culture but won't want to do museums/churches/historic buildings the whole day. More things like the Segway would be great. I'd love to do a daytrip to Cordoba but we won't have a car and the trains don't really work time-wise.

What about a 4WD safari up in the Sierra Nevada, or are the children too young for that? Ths link gives some ideas www.getyourguide.co.uk/granada-l207/granada-sightseeing-4x4-tour-t42922/

Fantastic suggestion, thank you! I'd never have thought of that - and pretty reasonably priced compared to the Segway tour which is nearly £50pp for just two hours!

Would there still be snow for skiing in the Sierra Nevada at that time of the year?

There is a science museum. We didn’t go on our recent visit as not enough time. It looked good from the reviews on trip advisor.

I think there will definitely still be snow in February, but none of us can ski, so I'm not sure about that. Maybe they'd have tobogganing or something unskilled like that?!

I saw the Science Museum but I'm not sure that feels specificallly Spanish / Granadian enough to be worth doing in a short trip - we go to the Science Museum in London quite a lot.

There's the torture museum of they would be into that?

JustAnotherManicUsername · 18/11/2018 09:30

Well they might but I wouldn't be! Good suggestion though, thanks.
