Where to go in Normandy?

Hey guys. Wondering if you can help with some suggestions for where to visit on the Normandy coast. My siblings and our partners (6 of us in total) are planning on going to the Normandy coast in France at Easter. We’re looking for a town where there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants so we can easily eat out in the evenings.
We’re planning on driving down so we have a car but don’t want to have to use it every night. Ideally we’d Rent a gites/house/apartment so we can also cook for ourselves and want somewhere we can use as a base for going and enjoying Normandy.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Cotentin peninsula. Ferry to Cherbourg or Caen. Lots of nice small towns, D day landing beaches. I like Portbail and La Haie du Puits, Barneville Carteret, Barfleur. Arromanches is also nice.

Or go further east towards Le Havre, Honfleur etc.

Thanks Mrs! Arromanches has come up in my other research and sounded lovely. Thank you!

Have a look at Pierre et Vacancies
It's French centre parks, but lovely! Loads of choice in North France and much better value than UK centre parks. We have started at Belle Dune a couple of times and really enjoyed it, although it might be a little quiet for you.

Deauville is smart.

Coutances is a nice small town, or Granville is more tourist orientated.

Make sure it's quite a big town! We went to Port-en-bessin in February last year and all the restaurants shut in the evening. Easter will probably be better than February but I wouldn't go much smaller than Bayeaux (which is a place I'd recommend).

Manic thats exactly my fear!

Have you considered Caen? There's lots to do in the town, and loads of fab restaurants/bars, and the beaches aren't too far away. With all the students it's got a lively vibe through the year.

Another vote for belle dunne really lovely.

Love Belgium but for various reasons, it’s going to be France ;)
Thanks guys. Really appreciate the input. Any more is appreciated.

Belle Dune is not in Normandy though! It is also pretty quiet. le Touquet might be livelier along the north coast.
