Has anyone stayed here before? We have booked to go at half term with DD (5) and DS (16months). Would love to hear any tips at all and any negative points!! Thanks

I'd be interested to hear this too, as I have told dh umpteen times I want to stay there (it's the only place that can accommodate us in one room).

yes we stayed here August 2003 - TBH accommodation is pretty basic but a good base for Disneyland - 5 mins drive. The complex also has a good indoor pool complex and restaurant plus night time entertainment (Disney characters singing that sort of thing) plus bar so you can have a drink and walk back to your cabin if you want. What else do you need to know?

Excellent!! Thanks littlemissbossy. Is it similar to the basic Centre Parcs lodges? Do you know if the parking is free at the park? Also what facilities are in the kitchen - microwave?/fridge? Lots of Questions!! You can tell DH booked it can't you!!
Lou33 - that's exactly why we are staying there too!! Kids in one room, mummy and daddy in an other. All 4 of us in one room for 5 days didn't appeal to us, especially as DS is so young at the mo!! Don't know how many of you there are but some of the hotels can accommodate 4 in a room - 1 double and bunk beds usually. If you have a look at the website it shows you what the hotels are like inside.

lou33 We stayed at Davy Crockett. Three adults, four kids, had a two bed lodge. Two bed only costs a tiny bit extra and is well worth it.
We thought it was great, my sister and her boyfriend stayed at The Santa Fe and thought the Davy Crockett was better.
Parking is free although you are directed to the furthest car park. Had to ride the travelator to get into park, my ds3 loved it as much as any ride.{grin}.
There is a swimming pool at DC. Small animal farm and play area. Bikes with kiddie seats for hire. Older kids can roam safely.
If we did not want to eat at the park in the evening we could come back to DC and do soup and rolls, cheese, sausages etc away from the hustle and bustle.
It felt secluded and peaceful which was great, we could chill out easily.
The only negative I can think of is that half term may be busy, so get in the breakfast queue early Have a lovely time.

Great, great, great!
We were there in May 2003, and I'm so glad we chose there, rather than one of the hotels. I really didn't want to only have one room for 4 of us for 4 nights.

The accommodation was pretty basic, but everything you might need - we had a one-bed, but having a separate living area gave us the extra space we needed. In the kitchenette was a fridge, oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. The living room was open plan, with a TV showing Disney programmes (obviously), there was a couple of sofas and a pull-down sofa-bad.
Bathroom was quite small but perfectly adequate with a bath with a shower over it. Bedroom had a double bed and bunk-beds.

The on-site entertainment every night was quite repetitive (but we were there for 4 nights, which I think is quite long compared to most), but enjoyable all the same - on a country and western theme with Disney characters, line dancing, face painting etc.(and all free).

The swimming complex was excellent, really good fun.

You have to collect breakfast from a "cabin" in your section of the park - I think it was a 2 minute walk for us (never went myself - always sent dh). You chose what you want from coffee (sachets), tea etc and there's baguettes, croissantes etc to eat. It comes in boxes (like happy meal boxes) which look like picnic hampers (they think of everything! )

As someone else has said, it's a 5 minute drive, and parking was free; we got there early most mornings (before opening time), and were in the nearest possible car park , but still had to use the travelator - they're all fairly distant.

I have a couple of photos in my online album of the inside of the cabin - I can't post a link (too complicated), but if you CAT me with your email address, I can "invite" you to look at the album.

Hope this is helpful
