Tips for a day in Canterbury

Can anyone tell me what we should see, where we should go. Also, any views on where to park (with apologies for being clueless - can we cover most of the "tourist" parts on foot?). Also, where to eat. And anything else I should know!
I'll be going with two of the dcs (aged 11 and 12).
Thanks Flowers!

If you're going for the whole day, use Park and Ride. Just £3.50.
Eat at Eleto Chocolate Cafe, Chambers or Tiny Tim's Tearoom. All three if you can!
Try and see a demonstration at Canterbury Glass Art. Just pop in and they'll probably be making something!
Canterbury Tales is quite engaging. They always have lots of costumed guides and interactive bits and pieces.

Another vote for the park and ride.
The historic river tours are fabulous. They are based under the little bridge beside the Old Weavers Restaurant. The boat ride takes about an hour and gives a unique perspective of the city. www.visitsoutheastengland.com/things-to-do/canterbury-historic-river-tours-p361911

Definitely do the river tour and have cake at Tiny Tim's. It's expensive to get into the cathedral, but it's really beautiful. I like Marlowe's for lunch, but it depends what kind of food your family like. There are some pretty cool sweet shops that your children might like!

Second the chocolate cafe, and I’m not sure if you’ll be able to go with DC but The Pound is pretty cool to look around.
