Day out with 10yo DD - ideas needed

Taking a day off work later in the week to do something nice with DD (10) as it's half term but owing to what's turning out to be a rather stressful week now struggling to come up with ideas of things to do.

Def don't want shopping, big museums (eg science/natural history) or other really crowded places. Nothing too £££. Not cinema as she's been taken there already this week.

We are in London so there's loads to do but my brain is overloaded with work and so ideas are not flowing. Doesn't help that the exhibition I had planned to take her to closed last week

All suggestions much appreciated

Swimming? Ice skating? Followed by lunch out?

Skating is out simply because I am pathetic at it and so it won't be fun for her to go round on her own. Swimming is a thought, though we have had colds so will see how we are. Lunch is good!

You might get more responses on the chat board. I don't know London but agree lunch with a DD is always good :)

Afternoon tea is a nice treat and also a bit different from a normal lunch.

Pottery studio/ceramics cafe
V and A museum of childhood
Horniman Museum - there's loads to do
Hire boats at Lee Valley Boat Centre. There are pedalos, electric boats (with steering wheel) and traditional rowing boats available to hire on an hourly basis.
Hampton Court
Kew Gardens
Bowling at Bloomsbury Lanes

Take an MBNA clipper up to North Greenwich and go on the cable cars.

What about a nice pub lunch and shopping trip somewhere? Or you could always see a film or go bowling. If it’s raining you can visit a museum or art gallery. A bit different but you could make a day of it and hop on the London Eye or stop at one of the restaurants in the area. Another option is to go by train to see a play in a theatre then have dinner.
Hire a river boat for a while and cruise around on the river. Hampton Court is a fabulous outing. Tower of London makes a great trip.
