Lisbon coast area - has anyone been around May half-term?

Flights from our local airport seem to have really increased in price this year, so we've settled on Portugal as much better value than Greece/Spain/Turkey. I'd really like to go in May half-term as there's a better choice of accommodation, but not sure how warm it tends to be?

Personally I'd be happy sitting on a pretty terrace with a jumper on, but the DC will want to be at the pool/beach a lot.

We went in February half term a few years ago and it was T-shirt weather! Not sure about swimming in the sea, but it was certainly warm. We were between Lisbon & Porto (Obidos)

thank you - that's promising!

We stayed in an apartment with a balcony overlooking Cascais bay - easy train into Lisbon. Steps away from the town beach & harbour.

I've been to Lisbon in mid May and it was hot and sunny. The sea is likely to be quite cold at that time of year though. Don't know if hotels in that area have heated pools, as they would be cold otherwise.

thanks myron and Barbara. We have been browsing apartments with heated pools, as I went to that area in early Sept donkey's years back, and while the weather was beautiful for sitting out on the beach, the hotel's unheated pool was bracing in the extreme.

We went around that time, to Lisbon and Aveiro and it was mixed, some sun some rain. There's plenty of indoor entertainment though.
