Just wondered if anyone had any experiences they might want to share.Good or bad?
My friends want us to go to Florida next year but Hubbie wants us to go on a cruise with the kids. (7,8,9).Anyone?

Disney do a cruise which I imagine is great for kids.

We are considering booking a cruise (in europe) next year with dd's who will be 8 and 6 as we like to visit different places on holiday.

yes,I had a look at the Thomson ones the other day. Funnily enough, they don't give an awful lot of info.on the website. Yet i'm sure that when i've been in the travel-agents there's been a big advertisement on a family cruise. Unless I was dreaming!?!

Hi cutekids

We have been on 3 cruises with Ds.He is now 9 and has a great time.We have only been with P and O so can't comment on other lines.Their family ships are fantastic for children.

My sis had a week on the Oriana recently, said it was amazing. Her kids are 9 and 6 and they both went in the younger kids club which they had to sign in and out of. They took walkietalkies so even if they did wander off they were fine.

We had a fantastic cruise last year with NCL. (Baltics).

The boys (12, 10 and 8) loved it.

Can highly recommend P&O cruises fro families

they cater perfectly for children over 24 months!

donnie · 16/06/2007 15:55

i would love to take my 2 on a cruise but I am totally neurotic about them falling overboard. Realistically, would that be possible ? they are 2 and 5.

NannyL · 16/06/2007 17:35

It would NOT be possible for a 2 or 5 year old to be able to fall over board in P&Os Aurora or Oceana...

or even for anyone to be able to fall over baord... and tbh it would be tricky for someone wanting to jump and kill themselves as well!

They are the only ships ive been on but falling over baord is NOT something to worry about!

Add my vote to P and O - superb for children and teens AND adults. don't fancy the disney thing as feel that would be too child orientated and would alienate adults. P and O have totally separate children's areas and clubs and meals - they even have a night nursery fgs! Royal Caribbean also very good but imo P and O better. Went on Airtours when we first tried cruising - don't think they exist anymore - but the childrens clubs/facilities were useless compared to P and O. Just replied to another cruising thread and the only problem you will have is cruising addiction - haven't met anyone yet who has been a cruise and does not suffer from this . p.s. you need not worry about falling overboard, believe me!

My parents took the whole family, cousins and all on two cruises, one on cunard coronia, the other P&O oriana. the latter was definately the best for kids although much more crowded than the former. the kids had great fun and are begging to go back, but maybe without cousins it wouldn't be so fun? See if the other family want to go with you.

I did worry kids could fall over board but we went to visit my friend on the cruise ship she worked on and there are the metal bars going across that you think kids could fall between but then they are 'lined' with clear plastic barriers.
