Never been, never even looked into it but just googled it in a whim for October (school hols for us but we live abroad). We are 2 adults and 2 children....

The website says £1600 for 4 nights, 5 days in Disney Hotel New York and includes:

  • Room
  • Disney Parks tickets
  • Half Board Meal Plan (quick service breakfast in Disney Parks, and lunch or dinner in a selection of restaurants across the Resort)
  • Access to all attractions and shows
  • Disney Characters Encounters in your Hotel and in the Parks
  • Extra Magic Time
  • Convenient complimentary parking (Hotel and Parks)
  • Free Shuttle bus service to the Disney Parks
  • Free Wifi at your Hotel

What else would we have on top? Lunches? General spending money? Do we need fast passes? I literally have no idea...

Cheyenne and Santa Fe coming up at £1200 for HB and park tickets too (though looks like the restaurant at Cheyenne is being refurbished). Davy Crockett £1600 also.

Any tips/advice appreciated!

Have a look at magic breaks.

Are you planning to drive, fly, train?

Also, when are you wanting to go? Look up the french holidays online and try to go outside of them it will be cheaper.

We went in April, 5 nights, stayed half board in the Davy Crockett ranch, we did the eurotunnel; 4 adults, 3 children £1600

I would say that’s not a bad deal, but how much will transport to DLP cost? Depending on age of children, prices for lunch could vary (most expensive fast-food style menu is 13 euros per person for lunch options, though that’s for a decent meal IMO)
HNY is going to be undergoing a major revamp soon to be themed to the Avengers, and is generally not that exciting tbh. Cheyenne and SF are both heavily themed (toy story and cars respectively), and Cheyenne is definitely my family’s favourite! Not very classy or luxurious but if you really want to feel like you’re in a Disney themed hotel that would always be my choice!
Is this deal direct with Disney or through a travel agent?

Depends how you are getting there, you haven’t said if travel is included
Me and my daughter have just come back
3 nights/4 days
Cheyenne (very nice totally refurbished and the restaurant is open)
Half board, with all tickets included
And we flew from our local airport with coach transfer included
£1400

Fast passes are free
Buy lunch at the petrol station by Santa Fe, adult meal deal €5.50 kids €3.95
Or mac Donald’s, happy meal was €4
Refill water bottles for free at drinking fountains in the park

Oh and that included the Wild West show too, definitely worth seeing and a 3 course meal is included in the price

We’re driving as we live in Europe.

Cheyenne looks fun but it says: We’re sprucing up the Chuck Wagon Café, which will stay open with limited catering capacity. Other options will be suggested to you. Any idea what this means in practice?

We went last Sunday came back Wednesday the chuck wagon was completely open, we ate there twice, was very good,
You get a smart card, it gives you breakfast and a meal for each night of your stay, you can take your meal at your hotel or other hotels, and selected restaurants in the park, you book in advance at your hotel reception
We ate twice at the chuck wagon and once at restaurant des stars in the Disney studios park
You can use your meal at lunch time or tea time, up to you
We had a snack lunch (meal deal/McDonald’s) then used our free meal in the evening

Ok Cheyenne for £400 cheaper is looking good.

Do we need to book meals in restaurants then?

Does 5d/4n mean 5 days worth of park entry?

OP posts:

Yes 5 days of park entry, we were told to book our meals in advance, but I think you can just walk in but you may have to wait for a table
It was easy to book just go to your hotels information desk and they can book any restaurant from there for you
We’ve stayed at Santa Fe and Cheyenne, both were fine but we preferred Cheyenne beacausr it’s just been refurbished so everything was new, also there’s only 2 floors so quieter,
Our room was top floor, spotlessly clean, very quiet
Plus we would go out at 8.15 am and not get back until 10pm it’s not worth paying more as you only sleep there!

I would defo book restaurants if you can, worth it to have the security of knowing a certain time for dinner especially, particularly if you want to book any very popular ones (captain jack’s and bistrot chez Rémy are fab!)
Check the times for fireworks/parades also and arrange reservations around those times
