First holiday to turkey

Hello!

Me, husband and little one who is 4months old are going to turkey - Antalya in mid October, and this will be LOs first holiday.

As a first time mum taking LO one abroad I am a bit anxious and worried if everything will be ok!

The below are my worries which I would be grateful if other mothers who have been in this position or are in this position can help maybe reassure and advice me!

So I'm breastfeeding and I'm worried that something will go wrong with feeding abroad and LO won't feed well and get dehydrated??
(FYI since birth I have exclusively breast fed and have not expressed or given dummy bottle or water)

LO would have had all of her immunisations by then so she will be fully protected right??

The plane journey there..

The hot weather..

Thanks!

Turkey in October won't be too hot I din't think, so no worries about dehydration.

Immunizations will be fine. At 4 months old it is actually easier as they're not toddling about stroking random cats and dogs or eating the soil!

The flight will be fine. Try and feed on take off and landing just to help with ears and pressure. I always found the low hum and constant vibration sent mine to sleep at that age.

Honestly it will be fine. Have a great time. Where are you going?

I took my baby to live in Turkey when she was 8 weeks old, I was exclusively breastfeeding and it was the middle of summer and I was perfectly fine. If you think your baby is thirsty just give her some cool water. She will be fine with the immunisations she already has, they have the same immunisation programme out there as in the UK. It is quite easy to travel with a baby this age, it gets harder as they get older!

I hope you will enjoy your vacation and make the most out of it. Looking forward to any updates on your travel! :)

You can buy your entry visa at the Turkey entry airport Approx £20 each. There are lots of scam websites selling visas, beware !

No, don't get it at the airport, use www.evisa.gov.tr/en/ this is the official site.

You can't rely on the visa desk being open and they are going to phase out visa at the airport soon anyway.

It is quicker and cheaper online.
