Hi all,

Does anyone know when is the best time to book flights with Ryanair for next year. When first released...or keep an eye on prices?

Thanks

The cheapest days to fly are Tuesday and Wednesday

Keep an eye on the flights now. Vary your dates and watch the prices go up and down.
The busier the flight gets the higher the price goes so if you're going next summer I'd book in December or January.

Thank you. Unfortunately we have to do Sat to Sat flights which are more expensive - keeping close eye on prices

If a flight has sold less seats than expected by a certain date, then they will usually drop prices. But if it's a popular route and likely to be full then you may be better off just buying when released, especially if you are only interested in a specific date. As said, the more flexible you are on dates the later you can leave it and midweek flights are usually cheapest.

Put your destinations and dates into Google Flights and select the option to track prices - you will then get an email every time there is a price change - if it's a decent drop then book. If it's a big rise - don't panic as these are often short term. There are no 'rules' though - I have tracked several flight prices on Google Flights and they all go up and down, but there is no pattern common to all of them. Best advice is if you see a decent price drop just book - yes it may go even lower and DD so you don't get the best price offered, but it might be as low as it gets and if you hesitate you miss out.

Oh ok I see. Where are you flying to? If it's somewhere very popular in the summer I'd book ASAP as they will be the cheapest the earlier you book x

I suspect the 'just released' prices are higher to catch all the people who 'have' to book certain dates/destinations.

They may drop later after the initial rush. They may not. Airline pricing is extremely complicated and many factors affect the price you pay.

If you have to go on certain dates, or use certain routes, you are always going to pay more than if you have flexibility over dates, days, or route - can you start at another airport in the UK for example? Fly to a different airport near your destination? Use a different airline?

I've had flights to the Canaries (without hold luggage or paid seating etc) for £30 return, but we have flexibility over exact dates, airline, starting airport in the UK and destination. I just decided I wanted to go to the Canaries for about a week in November or December and based the holiday on which route was cheapest, using skyscanner and travel republic to search out what was available.

We booked ours when they came out for this year. Out of interest I put a price alert on the flights through Skyscanner, the price seemed to rise steadily with a few minor fluctuations. I was happy we'd got on with it. My friend is sure thay Christmas day is the cheapest time to book.
