Polish zloty?

Hi,

DP and I have booked a last minute trip to Poland, leaving on Monday. DP kept going on about travel agents ripping people off and insisted I should withdraw money out of an ATM once we arrive. I know that airports are the most expensive option for currency so I'm assuming he means outwith the airport. But I've just read that all Polish ATMs charge a withdrawal fee. So I'm wondering what is the best thing to do? Obviously it's too late for me to order it online and I'm not sure if I could just pop into a shop and they'll have some in stock. We're only going for a few days and I think DP will just use his credit card anyway but I'll need some cash for some purchases.

Thanks for any help!

Google the name of your bank and "overseas fees" and that will tell you what your bank will charge you. Or find your bank on the list here:

Don't know about Polish ATM fees as never been there but a quick Google suggests they usually don't, so not sure where you read that? Do not accept any offer by the ATM to convert the amount into pounds always select the local currency. Make one larger withdrawal instead of 2 or 3 smaller ones.

Thanks! It was maybe an old article I read perhaps they've changed their policies now. Thanks for the heads up on local currency - will def take out a large amount in one go!
